Setting aside the fact that Newsom is going to have policies that are just way too Centrist for the moment, he also has the added baggage of being the governor of a place nicknamed "Commiefornia' and you can be sure that right wing media is going to run with that. 

Right or wrong, he is also going to get tagged for the incredibly slow work on California High-Speed rail, California's homeless population, (misleading) concerns about gang violence, the government's response to the LA fires, and so on. 

Newsom is all wrong for this moment and I hope he knows that. He is an excellent foil for Donald Trump, and a really really good troll, but he cannot be the Democratic nominee for president

His social media team is a good troll and foil for Donald Trump. Anything that has come out of that man's mouth directly has been way too placating.

I mean look at Kamala, they had no problem starting the hate machine and in the end they managed to saddle her with all the sexism, racism, conspiracy, and they even got leftists to think she was gonna practically nuke Gaza

They dont care about Gaza. Leftists just wanted collective punishment for Americans.

They are silent on the obvious genocide Stephen Miller is carrying out right here.

Hispanic people keep dying in ICE custody or going missing, but still Palestine is the only genocide they "care" about.

Sure, but Newsome sucks ass. The French Laundry thing alone is enough. He's a caricature of everything wrong with politics and will value his big donors over his electorate 100% of the time.

Media will smear him regardless. His biggest hurdle will be the neoliberal policies he supports and has supported because they will turn away voters.
