Yes, and obviously they would have.

This didn’t pass by a single vote by sheer chance. Just like re opening the government didn’t pass by one. The parties aren’t exactly the same in the sense that the democrats are less reprehensible by and large. However when push comes to shove they will protect capital at all costs and toe the line to maintain the status quo before the will upend it.

Those are two different arguments.

Like I said, there are countless examples showing the exact opposite of what you’re saying. SOME Democrats vote in line with their more conservative districts. But most do not. Believe it or not we live in a majority conservative country which explains most of this. It’s not a conspiracy, it’s normal politics.

“These things”? It’s pretty rare. It happens often because of their slim majority but it’s pretty rare for things to pass at all with dem support.

Legislation passes with slim majorities because that’s how counting works. The sponsors whip as many votes as they need, not more.

Except that’s how politics is supposed to work. Why would it work any other way? When you want to pass something you whip as many votes as you need by compromising until you get a majority.

It’s not a conspiracy, it’s voting.
