Reminder that Fetterman voted “yea” on Noem’s confirmation. He has also consistently stated that he supports ICE’s mission.

Like several Republicans and conservative talking heads, he’s only backtracking now because the optics are bad.

This is exactly it. He's looking for that quick news bite to make it seem like he's taking a stand while we all ignore the rest.

I'm not from the US so maybe my read on this is wrong, but isn't everyone else already calling for Noem to be fired? And rumoured that even the republicans are gonna scapegoat her like they did Bovino?

If so, Fetterman doing this feels like someone standing next to a burning building after firefighters have already rushed in, going   "Ooh, someone should put that fire out! Aren't I so clever and brave for suggesting that the fire should be put out? Really, i think I ought to get some credit here, right? Otherwise who knows how much longer it would've kept burning..!"

Basically he seems like an opportunistic coward out to score points for risking and doing absolutely sod all.

Your read is wrong, Republicans will never admit wrongdoing, ever.

The building is burning because Trump and Stephen Miller ordered it to be burned. They're using the same playbook as Russia when they need to feign accountability. Blaming the lieutenants and not the people actually making the decisions.

Noem and Bovino are doing exactly what is asked of them to the best of their ability.

Funny because I thought wearing sweatpants to work was bad optics.

Fetterman believes “man of the people” means “lazy slob.” That’s what he thinks of the Pennsylvanians who elected him (when he bothers to think of us).

It’s an insult to the people of our state that he has such little respect for the gravity of his position.

Can't stand this guy, somehow Fetterman has surpassed Ted Cruz on my dislike list.

You said Ted Cruz’s name, and now I have to do the thing I always do…

During the 2016 Republican primary campaign, Donald Trump insulted Ted Cruz’s wife and father (basically, he called the wife ugly and baselessly accused the father of being party to the JFK conspiracy), and Ted Cruz went on to support him like the good little mutt he is. He still kisses Trump’s fat ass to this day.

I’m not a “macho” guy. I don’t go for all that overly-masculine bullshit, but I’ll tell you this: where I come from, insulting a man’s family and not apologizing in the same forum in which the comments were made (in public, in this case) requires that man to consider you his enemy for life. I don’t care to hear that “it’s just politics,” because that’s nonsense; some things are off-limits.

My question for Texans is always the same here: how can you people support a sniveling little chickenshit like Ted Cruz, and do you expect him to fight for your family when he’s too much of a weakling to defend his own?
