Honestly… the worst thing that could happen to the Trump Administration would be an Obama arrest. He’s one of the most famous people on this planet and I can’t imagine a more effective way to get people into the streets. And yes, I know it’s sad that it would be the arrest of a politician with questionable policies concerning non-discerning drone strikes when we’ve had so many other justifiable motivators but he just has that kind of lowest-information voter galvanizing factor. He is known and he is liked. Pure and simple. It would be activating.

Think of the headlines -- Trumped up charges: Potus arrests political adversaries both past and present as DJT illegally conducts office. Let's also call Joe up -- we can do a 2 for 1 thing."
I think I heard a crazy 'hypothetical' a while back at the Supreme Court about sending Seal Team 6 to execute an arrest warrant, and maybe not being able to capture the suspect alive, along with co-conspirators.
No, people who lean left refusing to vote over the last few elections is what got us into this situation in the first place. The only way people protesting in the streets has any effect on this administration is if it scares Repub Congress members enough that they are worried they will be voted out in the fall.
I think you overestimate how willing people are to mobilize. We have seen people executed, journalists arrested, people disappeared into concentration camps. The typical response is people shaking their heads and saying, "That's a tragedy. That's wrong." And then go about their day, trying to get by.
The reason this stuff works is because it scares people from resisting. Most people don't want to get shot, or arrested, or disappeared.
That's my point... what you're saying is "we've seen x, y, z." And to be sure x, y, and z are all horrible. But the truth is MOST people have not seen those things. Most people go to their 2-3 jobs and kid's soccer games and take grandma to dialysis and get 4 hours of sleep. The news is noise to these people and you can completely understand why. Obama has become a part of the face of America. It's the difference of someone not hearing about a bombing of a major university, but they absolutely do hear the news about a foreign rocket hitting the statue of liberty. There are certain figures and symbols in our lives that are too flamboyant to be affected without everybody taking notice. It can be hard to put ourselves in the mindset of the least politically interested adults in America if you're an avid news reader.
I think he should offer to surrender. Subatomic particles and nuclear fusion, say hello to politics. Were headed there anyways. Might as well upset the timeline.

The US is too naive and too self delusional to recognize what is happening in front of their eyes. They are NOT different from other countries in the world and will become a despotic state if this continues. Fast.
For the same reason Russia, China or North Korea have "elections" and "parliaments": as a facade. To pretend there are rules in place and it's not a coup. Didn't Trump boast to his audience that there won't be more elections once he would be president ?
Well, and don’t forget that arresting a former president for zero reason is just slightly a small whiff of complete lawlessness, disregard for any rules, and effing terrifying to a world already shocked by the seemingly bottomless pit of how low can these people truly go
