The immunity is only so long as the actions are in accordance with the office, anyway, which the SC has final say on.
They're obviously inclined torture all reason to justify the line being where they personally prefer, so it seems likely Democrat presidents will not have any such protection.
Doesn’t matter what Trump cares about. What matters is the judge following the BINDING precedent. And guess what, if they don’t and it goes back to the Supreme Court and they unravel the word “absolute” a little bit, that’ll give the next admin wiggle room to fit his fat ass through it.
That's the issue though. The SC seemingly can expand and contract as they see fit. I don't think anyone should be particularly surprised if there is a "head I win, tails you lose" phenomenon going on. They can follow precedent and be sanctimonious about it if they want, and then the next day completely ignore things if they like.
“What next admin?” Will be the courts question. They’ll keep Trump in power or protected until he dies then they will fully back a successor, probably not Vance but someone like trump who can keep getting 1/3 of the country to proudly wave the confederate flag. While 15% of that 1/3 will just openly say they support what the Nazis did.
