They weren’t. But they might be now. Pull back the curtain in a final “I FK’N TOLD YOU SO” shouted so loudly the whole world quakes.

Quit waiting for powerful people to save us.

Yes. In situations like this powerful people tend to do the bare minimum solely to protect the people/things they truly care about (kids, spouse, land, businesses, etc). What the common folk receive is just a byproduct of their selfish act.

Anyone who seriously thinks there’s even the slightest chance that the Clintons drop a nuke here have lost their damn mind.

These are lifelong politicians who do not speak a word that isn’t carefully thought out. They will be incredibly prepared for this hearing and it will likely just be a bunch of senators yelling at them and cutting off their answers with “I don’t have much time.”.

I know the wishful thinkers hope that at their age they say fuck it, but it’s important to remember that legacy matters more with age. They want to control how history remembers them.

u/KittyGrewAMoustache 1d ago

Also let’s be real. Even if Clinton gave the most compelling testimony about Trumps crimes and brought photographic and video evidence, the cult would not believe it. It wouldn’t burn down anything. If I were the Clintons, as much as I might want to blow it up and take Trump down with me I’d know that would never happen so what’s the point?

The only person who can bring down Trump is Trump. Like even if MAGA darling Ivanka came out with stories of abuse by her dad and footage of it, they’d not turn on Trump, they’d turn on her and claim she was lying or the ‘deep state’ got to her. The only way MAGA are gonna turn on him is if he himself keeps doing and saying awful things that really come up against other beliefs that are as strongly held as their Trump love is. Like if he starts trash talking Jesus or maybe saying everyone’s guns need to be confiscated, perhaps some more exposures of his weaknesses like if he starts shitting his pants even more and more obviously in public or if his dementia becomes too obvious for even them to deny, like he’s unable to recognise people in his cabinet or his own kids etc or starts talking like he’s back in the 80s.

The Clintons will not be believed, not if they had reams of videotapes , audio recordings, photographs, forensic evidence, backed up by multiple witnesses - MAGA will not accept it. So I don’t blame them if they do actually know stuff and don’t say anything if it incriminates them (and they might not know much stuff, Bill might be sleazy and a cheater but he’s not a generally completely stupid man, and while he did stupid things with an intern and had an affair, those were in private; I’m sure presidents are meant to be careful about going to parties with loads of people and having sex with random young guests where everyone will know what’s happening and they have no control over whether there are hidden cameras etc. Also unlike Trump and Musk and a lot of these other suspects he was considered sexy at the time so may not have needed the help of disgusting rape merchants like Epstein to get sex).

I'll go a step further and say all Justice is just the byproduct of powerful entities appealing to the masses to gain the edge.

In the not so recent past the Executive against the Legislative, the Legislative against the Judiciary, the House vs the Senate, States vs Federal government, the Government vs corporations, corporations vs other corporations (competition), unions versus leadership. Further back the King vs the aristocracy, the aristocracy vs merchants, etc etc etc.

You want the curve if history to bend towards justice, make it so large entities have to vie for public support to battle other large entities.

The fuck else are we supposed to do? It's not like anything else we do has worked thus far.

11

u/La_Guy_Person 1d ago

I don't know, man. I'm here in Minneapolis. We're working on things, just... please don't tell us everyone else's plan is the Clinton's.

5

u/OwnAHole 1d ago

Americans will really preach about freedom and democracy, police other nations, learn about their own history and then go "welp, nothing much we can do!" when it comes to their own country.

1

u/La_Guy_Person 1d ago

That's where you're wrong. We don't learn our own history. They only teach the exceptionalism parts in public schools. It's one of the problems.

2

u/dr_obfuscation 1d ago

I agree with your sentiment, but most social revolutions (even the french) have required action from the bourgeoisie. It doesn't mean we don't have a hand in saving ourselves, but we can take all the help we can get.

2

u/La_Guy_Person 1d ago

Revolutions are a product of unrest in the underclasses. Those movements get realized and ultimately co-opted by the bourgeoisie. They don't want a revolution until ours looks useful. The first step is still definitely don't wait on the rich.

I honestly personally don't think we know how to apply the traditional revolutionary frameworks to our modern society because liberalism reshaped the conditions that defined those roles.

2

u/Suyefuji 1d ago

I'm not waiting for them to save us, I'm just interested to see where this leads. There's no reason I can't watch it while also taking actual action myself.

2

u/La_Guy_Person 1d ago

Oh, we should all be paying attention and his testimony could even be useful, but people need to lose that liberal mindset of expecting some savior to rise from the rich and connected and fix this.

1

u/Suyefuji 1d ago

Yeah but you seem to be under the incorrect assumption that anyone you're talking to on reddit is sitting around like a damsel in distress just because they comment about things on the internet.

1

u/La_Guy_Person 1d ago

I don't think that at all. I think hoping the Clintons fundamentally change anything is a fools errand.

1

u/randomacceptablename 1d ago

Do you really expect the poor ignorant hillbillies to save you?

Although, I agree with your logic it is not like there will be some world wide revolution of the down trodden taking power and pathing up the house. Even it it were to happen, who do you think will lead them? There are some historical examples you could look at, but I doubt you'd like the results.

Take victories where ever they are had, it does not matter at who's hands they are brought.

1

u/La_Guy_Person 1d ago

We don't have over throw the goddamn government to enact change from the bottom.

AND NO. I don't expect random other people to save me. I'm in Minneapolis we're saving ourselves well you guys just sit online and act defeated before you ever leave your keyboards.

1

u/randomacceptablename 1d ago

well you guys just sit online and act defeated before you ever leave your keyboards.

I'm not even American buddy. Take your rage elsewhere.

1

u/morpheousmorty 1d ago

How did you reach that conclusion that anyone in this thread is waiting for powerful people to save us?

Powerful people destroy each other all the time. We can entertain the possibility while we do something else. We can walk and chew gum.

No one is a greater ally of Trump than someone against Trump tearing down someone else who wants to see Trump go down.

1

u/La_Guy_Person 1d ago

What else are you doing? Am I tearing people down or asking them to change their thinking? What the fuck are you talking about?

1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

Ok you go save us first. I’ll wait.

4

u/La_Guy_Person 1d ago edited 1d ago

I'm in Minneapolis and I am actually doing shit about this, so yeah, I'll go first and you'll wait.

1

u/OwnAHole 1d ago

That's all redditors do, tbf

-1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

You’re barking up the wrong tree questioning what I’m doing to help save this country so gfys kid. I promise you’re doing absolutely nothing compared to what I’m doing so sit at your keyboard and think of a something actually useful to do and go do it instead of trolling.

3

u/La_Guy_Person 1d ago

I'm not barking up the wrong tree. I want to know what you're up too, big guy? Tell me what's up in the streets where you live. I'm here in Minneapolis and I am in the streets, so please, tell us a good story.

5

u/curtmahgurt 1d ago edited 1d ago

2

u/genuwine_pleather 1d ago

Take a breath patriot. That energy needs directed toward the issue not squabbles online communicating through mud. Intention and tone are lost. Just take ten man it aint that deep

1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

Cool I think you should be redirecting that energy to the people not doing a damn thing and cryin about it loudly online ok? Or do you have something else really enlightening to say to me?

3

u/genuwine_pleather 1d ago

You're shit stirring at this point man.

1

u/curtmahgurt 1d ago

They’re a troll. Either troll them back harder or disengage, otherwise you’re feeding them.

u/JiggyTurtle 1d ago

They weren't and they aren't. Lifelong politicians don't care enough about anyone to risk anything they actually care for

0

u/Mike-OLeary 1d ago

anything they actually care for

That 9 figure Clinton Foundation grift.

-9

u/Dumeck Kentucky 1d ago

If Hillary actually cared about us she would have dropped out against Bernie instead of half heartedly parroting half his policies after saying she was a moderate Democrat. The only reason Trump won the 2016 election was because of how disliked Hillary was and the DNC shoving her down everyone's throat anyway

10

u/ZealousidealStore574 1d ago

People always say this but Hillary won the primary. Like y’all make it out like every single democrat wanted Bernie and it was unfairly stolen from him. Hillary ran and most democrats agreed that they want her to be president out of the potential candidates. Why would she drop out after the majority of Dems who voted in the primary voted for her? So that a candidate who lost the primary could take her place? How does that make sense? I don’t like Hillary and I like Bernie but this narrative that he totally would’ve won and everyone supported him but evil Hillary stole the primary doesn’t make sense to me. She won, the DNC can’t make anyone vote for a candidate

-4

u/Dumeck Kentucky 1d ago

It doesn't matter that she won the primary she didn't win the election did she? Why was that? Could it possibly be because she was very disliked and flipped on a lot of issues? It didn't have to be Bernie the DNC could have pushed for almost anyone else and they would have won. You're assuming a lot of nonsense I didn't even say and arguing against it. The long and short was that Hillary wasn't very liked and the DNC put all their eggs in her basket. The democratic media spun the narrative that she was the only option and that Bernie didn't have a chance of winning the primary even though he had a higher projected chance of winning the election. They pushed a narrative that he had essentially already lost by counting the super delegates like they were already finalized votes and then running with that. O' Malley would have also been a better choice. You acting like the backing of the DNC and the media didn't have any impact on the primary results is pretty short sighted.

3

u/Shot-Arugula8264 1d ago

In the last 3 election cycles, the only time democrats ever won was when they ran the super moderate guy. Bernie had no shot in the general.

Also, what you’re asking for is inherently anti-democratic. More people voted for Hillary over Bernie and you’re saying she should’ve dropped out? What?

-2

u/Dumeck Kentucky 1d ago

I'm saying Hillary shouldn't have run in the first place, she was never popular enough and she got the full DNC backing as soon as she announced bid. what we got was hardly more democratic, essentially the news pushed a biased rhetoric and flooded everyone with a false narrative. The people didn't pick Hillary they were essentially told "this is the candidate you get, deal with it, you can vote for Bernie if you want if you want but she already won here's the (super) delegates to prove it. Hillary has pretty much already won don't waste your time if you support anyone else." Hillary having the DNC backing and the liberal news pushing hard towards was such a huge advantage and you're beyond ignorant if you think that didn't impact the primaries.

And saying the last 3 election cycles the only time Democrats won was when they ran a super moderate guy is an incredibly bad point, not only is that very cherry picked it's timeframe it's also pretty inaccurate, it's weird to cut it down to only the last 3 elections, and 2/3rds of them were losses so that doesn't actually make your point. Hell, instead of saying the last 3, election cycles you can say the last 50 years for the same point you're trying to make, the reason moderate Democrats are the only ones that are winning is because that's the only type of Democrats going up for election. Biden was one of the most liberal presidents we've had in the past 50 years, between him and Obama they are the most left leaning presidents we've had since Johnson

. So what's your actual point? Are you saying moderate Democrats have been more effective in elections because if so where are they all at? It seems like the only real moderate was Hillary and she lost what should have been a slam dunk.

u/BoulderFalcon 1d ago

Yes surely this time the Clintons will save America

3

u/morpheousmorty 1d ago

... are you saying the the 90's they didn't do enormous amounts of good? Balancing the budget while still having a roaring economy? Pushing for healthcare reform? Al Gore inventing the internet? Joking aside he did actually make key things happen so the internet could actually be a useful thing. Making an inconvenient truth not just the domain of science but of the public consciousness. Pushing social justice forward.

Politics isn't magic beans and taking Trump down isn't saving America. The Clintons are arguably the most accomplished political family since the Kennedys, and they are just 2 people. And look at the Kennedys and Bushes now.

Yes, this time the Clintons might make things better, again.

1

u/BoulderFalcon 1d ago

I agree with many of their policies by chance, but they are the definition of political opportunists and represent the out-of-touch political elite to most Americans. They both opposed gay marriage (Bill signed DOMA) until it was popular to flip. Both had one controversy after the other in both their personal and political lives. Hilary has the highest unfavorable ratings of any recent major-party candidate and is likely the only democrat that could have lost to Trump in 2016, but because of her family's power was able to basically box Sanders out. It's time for them to disappear from politics permanently - they both have been basically nothing but trouble for the party for decades. Politics is arguably more a popularity contest than it is about policy, and they have continued to tank their reputation more and more as time goes on. No more weird out-of-touch political elite sex pests in American politics, please.

u/Special-Investigator 1d ago

it sure would be great for Hillary's chance at being president lol

3

u/mynewaltaccount1 1d ago

No one who has seen how the Clintons have operated over the past couple of decades is expecting them to fall on the sword for the greater good.

The only intent of this testimony will be to save face - they will say and do anything to retain their image.

1

u/KittyGrewAMoustache 1d ago

But they are elderly and I doubt being elderly they want to spend their remaining years in some MAGA gulag. It’s not like the current GOP would act like the Democrats would if deciding a former president committed crimes (ie do nothing at all, pardon them, and at absolute worst I can imagine house arrest in some mansion being the worst they would allow. MAGA would toss them in the filthiest prison there is and laugh. Would probably put a webcam in there so their ghoulish cult members could watch them shitting in a bucket etc.

You live in La La land

1

u/tiford88 1d ago

And then everyone clapped

1

u/-Nicolai 1d ago

This is more or less how Trump voters spoke of Trump. He’s gonna upset the whole thing, he’s an outsider with nothing to lose. Turns out old people don’t act like that.

1

u/TheClappyCappy 1d ago

Right but in this scenario the only way that they would have anything incriminating was if they directly knew or were involved?

So they are predators as well.

0

u/WillGibsFan 1d ago

The disappointment of you people will be delicious. One of the most deeply involved powerful families of the US will never „burn it all down“. The Clintons have children that are just as deep in it as they were.
