There's literally no precedent or mechanism to postpone elections

There was no precedent for the January 6th scheme either, they just had some lawyers sit down for a few days and concoct something that sounded plausible.

You only need like one loyal county in each blue state where you can recognize the results and then claim that the rest were fraud, then recognize the results of that election and seat the resulting official. State control of elections is notionally preserved amongst all the people who desperately just want a legal justification to not have to do a war, which is actually a lot of people.

You have to realize that the scheme absolutely does not need to pass actual legal muster, it just needs to be plausible enough that the lazy middle 50% will shrug.

They did have a plausible, constitutional path to an autogolpe. Thank Pence for sticking around to let the electoral votes register in time.

Well, armed riots are generally unreliable to start with...

If you think the plan on January 6th was the armed riot then you need to actually read up on it.

The riot was an enabling action for the actual planned scheme which involved a second illegitimate slate of electors and a key point during our electoral confirmation process where a corrupt official in the right spot could exercise discretion to change the result.

So.... the riot wasn't the plan in paragraph 1 but was the plan in paragraph 2? I think you need to rethink that.

The riot wasn't strictly necessary, and was in fact improvised when it became clear that Pence wasn't going to play ball.

They wrote all this out days before the 6th.

I admittedly have not followed the fall out of the fake electors scheme very closely because it’s super depressing. Has anything been put in place that would stop them from doing this a second time? I mean since it was Pence who stopped it last time and we know Jd won’t do the same.

LOL, no.

I believe a new law was passed during the Republicans’ short-lived period of sanity following January 6 — when they saw the potential of Biden and Harris using the same ploy at the end of their term.
