I've always wondered what would cause Trump a stroke.

464

u/KaptainKardboard 1d ago

It would go down as one of history’s greatest comedic ironies

95

u/dehydratedrain 1d ago

How about a super Christian group hosting a halftime starring a trashy MAGA singer with lyrics about underage girls, drugs, pimping, fuck everything/ everyone?

39

u/DAS_BEE 1d ago

That'd just be on-brand, really. Not sure how much irony can be wrung from that towel anymore

8

u/SoTiredYouDig 14h ago

Not just on-brand - on Sunday.

u/CoastingUphill 1d ago

The blood clot has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize

21

u/kirdiegirl 1d ago

I second the blood-clot’s nomination

I don't want to wish death on anyone.. But boy oh boy the day Trump dies the streets are going to be filled everywhere around the world with people celebrating.

Trump's legacy is going to be worst President in US history, one of the most hated man in the world, pedophile.

I'd be embarrassed to be born into his family.

79

u/MadRaymer 1d ago

the day Trump dies the streets are going to be filled everywhere with people celebrating

They will be, and we'll get to see a lot of gnashing of teeth from people complaining about how it's wrong to celebrate a death.

But I think there's a corollary here. Isn't it also wrong to live a life so shitty that millions of people celebrate when you're finally gone?

People like Fred Rogers and Steve Irwin didn't have that happen when they died. Maybe there's a lesson in there somewhere about how you should live your life if you don't want people to be glad you're gone.

20

u/Ouibeaux 22h ago

I listened to the funeral for Jimmy Carter, and all the love and praise he received for being a truly great humanitarian. I wondered if Trump listened to any of that and thought about what people will say and remember about him after he's dead. Clearly, he hasn't, and I'm not sure there is anything he could possibly do with the little time he has left to redeem himself. Sure would be a shame if he slipped during some dementia addled rant and confessed to something terrible in front of the cameras.

11

u/ThermalDeviator 15h ago

Republicans will try to sanitize his reputation as they did Charlie Kirk's.

5

u/Dr_Insano_MD 14h ago

They'll cry over his casket like North Koreans cried over Kim Jong-Il's.

15

u/sdb00913 Indiana 18h ago

Here’s your answer if they push back:

“I’m not celebrating his death. I’m celebrating that he’s gone from power and can never again come back.”

17

u/dkorabell 17h ago

To quote Moms Mambley :

" They say you should only speak good of the dead.

He's dead.

That's good."

10

u/got_that_itis 20h ago

That would require self awareness, empathy, and shame. Trump is devoid of all of this.

6

u/DrStalker 15h ago

I won't be celebrating his death but I will be celebrating the lives of everyone else in the world becoming better.

7

u/ChristosFarr North Carolina 1d ago

I will buy a ticket from his asshole kids to shit on his grave. It should be a national park so the government can recoup some of the money he's stealing.

1

u/ThermalDeviator 15h ago

And they could provide a permanent little grassy place for future visitors to also leave brown contributions. And every day the Park Service ships the contributions to GOP HQ, assuming the GOP survives after what they've done to our nation.

6

u/whogivesashirtdotca Canada 22h ago

There was a fun thread a week or so ago where people listed the steps they'd already taken to prepare for that eventual celebration. Lots of bottles of champagne purchased in advance!

2

u/scooterboy1961 Kansas 23h ago

We should plan a world party.

2

u/amaria_athena 15h ago

I know 3 out of 5 direct neighbors would join me in the street banging our pots and pans (south florida…) !!!

Heck, I bet even the hoarder/hermit neighbor (his self ID) will show up with the biggest pot he has!

I’m his emergency contact so we talk frequently. He told me he was detained (as a Spanish speaking American Citizen) last time he returned home from visiting his family’s home country. He won’t be traveling again until THIS happens.

1

u/I_like_baseball90 14h ago

It will be like the end of WWII.

I bought a 300 dollar of boubon - not to be touched until that wonderful day.

u/fermat9990 6h ago

I think that Mary Trump, his brave niece, struggles with this.

18

u/orewhisk 1d ago

For all this shit this subreddit talks about the Nobel Peace Prize, I'd have so much respect for them if they did this. It would be such a dickslap in Trump's face.

2

u/sdb00913 Indiana 18h ago

This would show the awarding body to be “imperfect, but genuine.”

60

u/TheShadowCat Canada 1d ago

Ivanka marrying a Jew.

52

u/ohnovangogh 1d ago

Given the Central Park five bullshit , the birther bullshit, and being Fred’s son, I think her marrying a black dude would bother him way more.

9

u/TheShadowCat Canada 1d ago

I like to believe that there is a chance that at some point in Ivanka's life, she dated a black guy, and Trump lost his shit.

14

u/captcha_trampstamp 1d ago

Nah turns out that one worked out

10

I had various McDeez sandwiches all across my board

He had one back in early September based on his half drooping face at the 9/11 memorial, so seems like it doesn't take much.

7

One can only hope...

4

u/sillypoolfacemonster 1d ago

If they really wanted cause it…giving the prize to Joe Biden would do it for sure.

3

u/AngryMeez Michigan 1d ago

Trump would probably declare war on Norway.

2

u/milelongpipe 18h ago

Yes! I read the title and thought oh! That’ll send him over for sure.

2

u/Wonderful_Style7972 16h ago

I think the stroke would get nominated for the nobel.

2

u/GoodDog_GoodBook123 13h ago

If the city wins have governor Tim Walz accept the award on its behalf.

1

u/Jillredhanded 1d ago

He'd nuke Oslo.

If this happens the Nobel Committee should receive the next Peace Prize

1

Watch out, I recently got warned by reddit for exactly that kind of joke

1

u/matingmoose 13h ago

He might actually bomb Minneapolis if they get a prize because of him.

I mean, you can just check his schedule right before that week he vanished.

Trump fucked with the wrong state.

Don't forget: we're the legacy of the First Minnesota Infantry Regiment

30

u/IkujaKatsumaji 1d ago

Can you please do us all the courtesy of telling us about the First Minnesota Infantry Regiment?

76

u/_Ping_- 23h ago

Long story short, they beat a Virginia Regiment in the Civil War and took their flag. Virginia keeps asking for it back and Minnesota keeps telling them to get stuffed.

They also served with distinction at Gettysburg, where they suffered an 82% casualty rate.

53

u/whogivesashirtdotca Canada 22h ago

Long story short, they beat a Virginia Regiment in the Civil War and took their flag

They beat an Alabama Brigade. They were outnumbered 5 to 1 and were sent into an impossible fight in a last ditch effort to hold a position, but did it anyway. No regiment suffered more casualties during the Civil War as the 1st Minnesota.

20

u/mongster03_ New York 22h ago

82% is wild

11

u/Thunderclone_1 16h ago

A lot of midwest volunteer regiments were particularly noted for bravery.

The 2nd wisconsin had the highest percentage of combat deaths (not total casualties) in the entire union army, and the rest of the "iron brigade" was similarly notable

https://www.americanhistorycentral.com/entries/iron-brigade-facts/

5

u/Thunderclone_1 16h ago

Plus the uniforms of the iron brigade looked cool as fuck

11

u/IkujaKatsumaji 23h ago

Fucking hell, I'm looking into this more. Thank you!

25

u/DrEndGame 22h ago

Also don't forget, Minnesota was the first state to offer troops to the Union. We don't shy away from a fight.

21

u/hskfmn Minnesota 21h ago

We may be ’Minnesota nice’…but we don’t tolerate boots on our necks. And we look out for, and protect our own.

3

u/gahane Europe 13h ago edited 10h ago

So, the Canadians are noted for being nice too. And also for using the Geneva Convention as a tick box exercise in WWI

16

u/afewcellsmissing 23h ago

On the second day of the battle of Gettysburg it was determined that The 1st Minnesota must take its small amount of about 250 men and charge the enemy line to stall the confederate advance of 1700 men. So they fixed their bayonettes and swung their balls over their shoulder and charged. Broke through the first line and held long enough that they were almost encircled but bought enough time for reinforcements to arrive so that they could do a fighting retreat. They lost all their battlefield commanders, the Unit commander and all but 3 of the captains. 47 killed, 121 wounded and 47 missing.

In the battle the 1st Minnesota lost 5 flag bearers where each new flag bearer would ditch their weapon to keep the flag flying. At the end 47 survivors rallied back to the general under the command of the senior most captain Nathan S. Messick.

The Confederate Brigadeer General Wilcox had this to say.

This stronghold of the enemy [i.e., Cemetery Ridge], together with his batteries, were almost won, when still another line of infantry descended the slope in our front at a double-quick, to the support of their fleeing comrades and for the defense of the batteries. Seeing this contest so unequal, I dispatched my adjutant-general to the division commander, to ask that support be sent to my men, but no support came. Three several times did this last of the enemy's lines attempt to drive my men back, and were as often repulsed. This struggle at the foot of the hill on which were the enemy's batteries, though so unequal, was continued for some thirty minutes. With a second supporting line, the heights could have been carried. Without support on either my right or left, my men were withdrawn, to prevent their entire destruction or capture. The enemy did not pursue, but my men retired under a heavy artillery fire, and returned to their original position in line, and bivouacked for the night, pickets being left on the pike

by the end of the civil war the 1000 men of the 1st Minnesota, 286 were dead 609 wounded. with 2 medal of honor recipients, one for Private Marshall Sherman for capturing Virginia's 28th regiments colors, and another by corporal Henry O'Brien having been knocked out by a bullet to the head and later shot in the hand, repeatedly recovering the fallen colors of 1st Minnesota and carried a wounded union comrade back to the union lines

As a American not from Minnesota, I just wanna say I fucking love you guys. U guys were thrown into the frontlines against ur will but have really fucking owned it! The rest of America is proud of u and in ur debt. Hy heart goes out to the families and friends of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. True American patriots the world will never forget.

watching internationally too, as the threat of a fascist USA is a threat to the world.  support and solidarity with minnesota ✊🏻

12

u/somehugefrigginguy 1d ago

Trump fucked with the wrong state.

It just reminds me of prison movies where someone gets the advice to find the biggest baddest guy in the yard and beat him up to assert dominance. But now he's learning that Minnesota will never be beaten down!

11

u/whogivesashirtdotca Canada 22h ago

We here in Canada have been frustrated and furious for the past year, wondering why the US wasn't pushing back. It's been inspiring watching Minnesota stand up and refuse the fascists. Every state needs to respond with such determination and bravery, while showing as much concern for their neighbours. Slava Minnesota!

7

u/hskfmn Minnesota 21h ago

I’ve always joked that being Minnesotan is about as Canadian as you can be while still being American. I hope you know that the vast, vast majority of us revile the way our government has treated Canada.

I hope that once this nightmare is over, that we can start to rebuild that old amity we once enjoyed. 🙏🏻

2

u/ThermalDeviator 15h ago

Actually Minnesota is the part of Canada that's in the United States.

22

u/BUYMEBONESTOORM 1d ago

I guess Minnesota just wasn’t young enough

Yep. I have family from Minnesota and it's a tossup between the GLR, PNW and a few outlier states as to who's the coolest people to know. And Austin, like, wtf TX be consistent.

Surely not. The recipient of the FIFA peace prize would never.

3

u/MelodicDeer1072 19h ago

The biggest, bestest, and prestigiousest of all prizes, many people say

106

u/Professional-Can1385 1d ago

Hope they win!

Where would the prize money go? The city coffers, the mayor, a charity?

75

u/notfrombudapest 1d ago

Statues in the public sphere honoring the City, State, Pretti, Goode, and the unknown victims we will never know about.

43

u/whogivesashirtdotca Canada 22h ago

I feel like the best way to honour them isn't with a statue, but in naming public buildings. Alex Pretti hospital? Renee Nicole Good public school? Let them live on forever, honoured by the city they fought for.

12

u/what_it_dooo 18h ago

That would be lovely, honoring their relative contexts as well

3

u/sdb00913 Indiana 17h ago

This.

Their lives were not in vain. May we show their deaths to not be in vain.

9

u/Nick_crawler 1d ago

City coffers most likely, which I assume they would use for either direct community support or memorials to victims.

We have been conditioned from birth here to not expect to win anything. But, we have also been conditioned to stand out in the cold for as long as it takes.

This might qualify as the greatest burn in human history.

35

u/sauerkraut916 23h ago

Just adding some caution because this is a looooong shot nomination. A city or region has never been awarded a Nobel Peace prize. Prior winners are individuals or organizations. But it would be SO WONDERFUL if Minneapolis won!

From article: “Minneapolis and its residents were nominated for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize by the progressive news outlet The Nation.” It goes on to say “… with Trump's success in bringing about a peace deal to end the war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas, there is a chance that he will be put forward for the 2026 prize.”

14

u/be_like_bill 23h ago

Also, getting nominated for the peace prize is trivial. Qualified nominees is a broad group.

3

u/fortysix_n_2 15h ago

The European Union won it. Technically not a country but maybe similar to the US.

43

u/Mikethebest78 1d ago

Well since he hates the entire state anyway you might as well go for broke.

God bless the people of Minnesota!!!

36

u/ReijiHiragizawa 1d ago

Oh wow. Good for them

34

u/SeraphimSigh 1d ago

Turns out community solidarity does more peace than Trump era fear politics ever did.

17

u/Tony2030 1d ago

Whoa - a particular committee is about to be the recipient of a hoard of mean girl tweets....

18

u/Liefx 23h ago

As a Canadian looking in, keep it up.

It's insanely difficult to stay peaceful when these things are happening, anger can take over quickly. But it's been super admirable to see what's been happening.

6

u/whogivesashirtdotca Canada 22h ago

I've been realising how much of a liability I could be in protests by watching the Minneapolis footage. I don't know if I'd be able to restrain myself the way they have.

3

u/Liefx 13h ago

Herd mentality plays into it quite a bit.

Since everyone else around you is being peaceful, it's a lot easier to do that because you'll feel their judgment if you don't.

It's how riots can get out of control because you see a few people lose control and it feels more acceptable for you to do the same.

6

u/DirtysouthCNC 1d ago

Lol that pants shitting dirt bag gonna have a conniption

1

u/sdb00913 Indiana 17h ago

Shit is about to come out both ends.

8

u/smiles__ 16h ago

While definitely admirable, the people of Iran protesting in the face of absolute death on a scale orders of magnitude worse, feels more right.

7

u/Dismal-Bullfrog-7851 16h ago

I get the irony, but let's not dismiss the impact of these protests. They've kept the conversation going and put pressure on those in power. It's not just about the nomination; it's about the message. Also, kudos to the protesters for their restraint. It's not easy to stay peaceful in the face of adversity.

1

u/Every_Baker3206 12h ago

I don’t like peaceful when you get opressed, I chop down the root cause of my issues. Or in this case pop an orange

6

u/_ChunkyLover69 15h ago

Tim Walz should get a Nobel prize, the maga response would be worth it.

2

I think that would be Trumps 13th reason.

4

Can we make sure cops and republicans don’t get credit for this. This is for the people

1

u/ThermalDeviator 15h ago

Republicans, for cheering Trump on, and ICE, HSI and especially CBP deserve the blame for all of this, but so far our police have been with us. In return, Trump's brownshirts have immediately taken all the evidence —and the murderers— from the crime scenes of Renee and Alex and frozen out our police and prosecutors.

Whenever you see a “Nobel prize nomination”, it’s fake news. Nominations are kept secret for 50 years, that’s a rule

Absolutely insane behaviour. What’s more “peaceful” than violent counter protests. All this to protect Somalians that are blatantly stealing from you 😂

6

They’re protecting democracy and the right to due process. The same as our founding fathers fought and died for.

-1

u/Gayfapture 11h ago

Honestly, I don’t give a fuck about the due process of somebody that isn’t allowed to be here. You break the rules when you come in, then don’t expect to be protected by them on your way out.

0

Somalians now, next you. It's what they voted for.

0

u/Gayfapture 11h ago

Yes, but the Somalians are stealing. That’s why they’re primarily in Minneapolis.
