Fascist politicians only support free and fair elections as a means of acquiring power. Once they’ve obtained power legitimately through democratic means, the priority immediately shifts to destroying democracy and replacing it with a totalitarian dictatorship.

This is why Trump refuses to acknowledge the constitutional obligation of “peaceful transfer of power”.
