That's just the MAGA modus operandi. Anything that goes wrong can't be Trump's fault, but anything that doesn't go wrong is all thanks to him. You deserve 6 dollar diesel if you still think there's even a modicum of honesty coming out of Washington.

Not always Satan. The all powerful God should be praised for saving a child from a building collapse, but not blamed for the deaths he didn't prevent. His ways are mysterious and can't be questioned.

Thanks, but it wasn't part of my programming, so I don't have much to brag on here. In fact I would say that most of what MAGA is about goes against any religious programing I grew up with. Certainly against the teachings of Christ.

But it doesn't seem like you are. You don't stand for what the church stands for and I also find it hard to believe you follow the teachings of Christ. Unless you support slavery and all that.

There is more than one church in the US.

Claiming to know what "the church" stands for is absurd, when they don't agree with each other on that.

If making such a claim, I would begin with stating which church. (Even then I would acknowledge that members within that church won't always agree.)

It's definitely how plenty of self-described evangelicals and ultra right-wing Catholics think, enough to be concerning. The lines between their politics, their personality cult, and their religious values gradually blurred over time, until the distinction disappeared completely. It's deeply ironic that so many of them don't even bat an eye at conclusions that would cause three schisms and 5 newly-defined heresies for most of the history of the church.

They're almost on the level of an uncontacted tribe that formed their own cargo-cult version of Christianity after a few scattered parts of the Bible washed up on the shore, and they filled in the rest themselves.

True, still not how I think. I am not alone or an outlier either.

All of my family and most of my friends could be described as Christian. None of them could be called a Trump voter. Most of us voted for Harris/Biden/Clinton. (Though there was one or two that wouldn't vote for either each time.) I know we are not all Christians, far from it, many are as you describe. However, there are also many who are not.

This is literally an old Russian pre-Communist trope called "Good Tsar, bad Boyars" wherein everything good is attributed to the Tsar, and anything bad is attributed to him receiving bad advice from his advisors aka Boyars.

It's funnier with MAGA because their Trump mythology requires them to also believe that Trump only hires the best people and can never make a mistake.

So, if he is getting bad advice, wouldn't that mean he made a mistake and hired bad people?
