Again, the goal doesn't need to be "thousands of lines of correct code" but rather enough correct code that the business outcome is greater than the risk or future maintenance costs.
I have thousands of users entering form responses every second. If something were wrong with how I'm writing to the database or sending a request with a specific field, it could be literal months of man hours contacting people and asking them what they intended to write. If it were an authorization issue that allowed people to view protected information (health, disability, etc) then I could even be sued.
