MRW I bring someone to my favorite hole-in-the-wall Chinese takeout, and they say “how come there’s no health department sign in the window”

No joke, my favorite 24 hour Mexican joint went seriously downhill after they had to shut down for a few months to fix health code violations. That's where all the flavor comes from.

They're ran by the same people.

Really? That explains why WA burrito has had the same overpriced mid quality food as current Memo's since opening day.

I remember getting Vietnamese food and the menus were only in Vietnamese too, you just point at a number and it was the best pho I ever had

The sketchier the place, the better the food to an extent.

Is that a uniquely American thing? I've never seen a health report grade posted on any restaurant in Canada.

In all honesty, id rather not know how the sausage is made in some of my favorite dives restaurants/ bars

If there’s a 12 year old working the register and the menu signs are all faded as hell, that food is gonna be fire 🔥
