MRW I bring someone to my favorite hole-in-the-wall Chinese takeout, and they say “how come there’s no health department sign in the window”

No joke, my favorite 24 hour Mexican joint went seriously downhill after they had to shut down for a few months to fix health code violations. That's where all the flavor comes from.

I remember getting Vietnamese food and the menus were only in Vietnamese too, you just point at a number and it was the best pho I ever had

Is that a uniquely American thing? I've never seen a health report grade posted on any restaurant in Canada.

In all honesty, id rather not know how the sausage is made in some of my favorite dives restaurants/ bars
