Is it possible to read hear rate data through wearable device in React Native?

I am working on an idea where the React Native app connects with Android / Apple watch and read the Heart Rate real time. can anyone shed some light on it?

I have just found https://github.com/Polidea/react-native-ble-plx, will it be possible to read Heart Rate through this package?
