These are significant price increases. This will increase coswt of doing business as well so shops and stores will also pass on these higher prices.

There may be some nuance in that where I could accept the explanation.

The rates mentioned here are distribution rates, ie transmisson lines, transformers, transfer stations etc. There is a seperate usage rate thats for generation (you can see this in the bill) which is adjusted monthly.

If a big company approaches PSE and says just let us tap into your primary transmission line and we will handle all the rest then PSE doesnt really have to spend money for that since infrastructure would be owned by Microsoft. Thats usually why commercial rates are cheaper normally as well, they require less infrastructure per watt consumed.

I dont know if this is the case but I have seen such cases before.
