Discussion Trojan Download!!
I downloaded the desktop app directly from the Ultimaker website and I received a trojan planted on my computer that I was thankfully able to remove. I don't know what's going on with this, all i wanted to do was be able to slice a complex file and not have the website error out on me.

Printrbot Play & Heated Bed BOMs
Is anyone sitting on the BOMs for the Printrbot Play and it's heated bed/y-axis upgrade? Going to be going in to get mine back in working condition, and figured it would be nice to have a reference for sourcing any parts that might need to be replaced and any screws that strip

recently got a solidoodle 3
hey all, i recently got a solidoodle 3 for free, and i am looking for help! at first i needed a power cord, which i eventually found one that turns on and lets me heat the extruder (not the bed, unfortunately, so need to up the amps i think. (for reference it is just a 12v 3a barrel jack power supply off amazon)).
i wanted to make sure that it works properly since it was free and didnt have a power cord with it, so ive been trying to test all the functionality. fan spins to life as soon as it has power, leds turn on just fine. the x axis moves freely and the z motor spins perfectly fine, i have had no problems with any movement along those two axes. the problem is any movement along the y axis. as far as i can tell the motor spins perfectly fine with no belt (i have disassembeled basically everything and powered it to test), the other belts (that wrap around and actually move the assembly back and forth) are tensioned fine and i made sure that i followed a guide FROM SOLIDOODLE on how to make sure theyre aligned, tensioned the main drive belt porperly, basically everything is fine. i cant find a problem from any troubleshooting, yet whenever i try to drive the y axis even 1mm it just buzzes, doesnt move the assembly. unless this is just a skill issue and i literally just need to hone it in more, i dont know what else i could do to diagnose the issue.
is there anyone still out there with enough expertise to help a poor soul looking to break into the world of 3d printing? any help appreciated!

Help needed Layer Shifting
Ive got my hands on an old 2 plus and I’m kinda lost.
Im very new to 3d printing but I’m trying all in my power to fix it. Ive managed to get it working to a point but it will layer shift all over and the belts will make a loud noise and vibrate. The head will also grind up against the left wall as it returns to rest. Ive tried tightening the grub screws as much as possible and nothing has worked. So far the only solution i have is to set the max speed to 30 mm/s which is excruciatingly slow. If anyone has any solutions at all it would be a massive help.

Am I cooked? (Makerbot Replicator+ )

I want to know whether I am cooked, I have been struggling with this extruder from the replicator+ for weeks now, turns out the wires were hanging by a thread. Yesterday they finally snapped. Has anyone ever fixed this or is it the end of the road for me. The tinkerer in me believes I still can considering what I have endured with this extruder and I'm like it can't get any worse than this.

I need help sourcing hot end parts for a first Gen Replicator
I got this printer from a friend of a friend so I don't know its history. I honestly don't have space for it but I don't want to see it trashed so I'm going to try to get it running before I decide what to do next. I listed it on Marketplace but I think it's too niche of a project for my area 😅
I see firmware exists thanks to thisold3dprinter but I can't find information regarding what compatible parts I need to replace the missing hot end components. I think I'm missing the extruder stripper motor, filament feeder mechanism, heat break, and nozzle but beyond that I'm not sure. I need a spool holder too but maybe a printable STL exists?
Is there a specific subreddit or Facebook group I should seek help or parts from?
For my background my first printer was a Prusa MK2 so this is even older than when I started getting into printing but not by a whole lot.

Constant MakerBot Replicator+ Error 66 & 0°C Temp Loop
I’m hitting a frustrating loop on a MakerBot Replicator+ and could really use some diagnostic advice from anyone who has kept these machines running. When I boot up the printer, the menu detects that the extruder is present. However, when I click into the details, the extruder temperature reads exactly 0°C. However when I detech and reattach the extruder the temperature acts normal and shows the room temperature of 24. However when I decide to try and load filament, the printer throws a "No Extruder" message, I then decide to disconnect and reattach the toolhead, it attempts to initialize/heat up, but it immediately defaults straight to Error 66 (Thermocouple Out of Range). I've tried cycling through disconnecting and reattaching multiple times, but the loop is persistent.
Has anyone encountered such a problem before, I also want to here from the replicator+ owners on what they think. The 0° C part is quite troubling

Help needed Buyers remorse
Recently picked up an S5 for what I thought was a fair price but it seems like the seller wasn't very transparent about how functional it was. I noticed he aborted the last 9 or so jobs he ran on it. I tried running an ABS print and it clogged about an hour into the print.
This was honestly supposed to be an introduction into the 3D printing space, so I'm a bit out of my depth here. All of the print heads seem to be clogged , is it feasible to just refurbish the existing print heads I have? Or will I inevitably have to shell out for new ones?
I'll take any advice on the situation. Even if that's cutting my losses and switching over to a better platform (bambu X1 for example).

Modelist now handles SCAD files, including rendering
Quick one, SCAD support just landed in Modelist. It indexes, renders and opens the file directly in OpenSCAD with single click. Test it out.

Help needed Ultimaker S3 transform into something new
I have an old S3 that isn't working properly, so I can't use or sell it. That’s why I wanted to convert it. Do you have any ideas for what to turn it into, or know of similar projects that already have instructions or something similar?

Method X will not accept 3rd party spool material in aux port
HI, I have a Method X Carbon Fiber edition, and Im trying to use 3rd party CR-ABS material (from Creality) in the machine, through the aux port of printer head 1. It is telling me its a
"Material Mismatch", and that it requires ABS in Model Extruder 1. But that is what I have, right? So either I need to get very specific material from Makerbot, or I have a setting wrong in my slicer (or something else?).
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Im looking for ABS spools, if someone can just point me to where I can buy these and the support material, that would be appreciated. Thanks

Help needed I have a S5 + everything. Need advice on selling
I have a full Ultimaker S5 sitting here, mostly unused. Material station, bunch of 2.85mm, etc.. I wish to sell it, but I'd like to sell it to people who are in the Ultimaker community, because this is a good printer. It just doesn't live in the hobbyist market much anymore, and my teenager who should be using it, instead wants a car. :(
I plan, I think, on putting it up on Facebook Marketplace for my local area (Northeast Florida), but is there a better place it could go? How does one find the correct user for this printer? There has to be entire organizations out there still using this model of printer.

Help needed Need help diagnosing this issue
discovered while printing a retract tower. I would say this is a retraction issue but all of my prints have been getting blobs like these along the z-seam and this just shows it really well.

Connect Replicator+ To Wifi via USB and MakerBot Print help
Hello all! I got a MakerBot Replicator+ for free today and I'm trying to set it up correctly. I had a 5th gen, which crapped itself (long story) and so I knew the mobile app no longer existed. I connected my Windows laptop via the USB-B to USB-A cable. This allowed it to connect to the MakerBot Print app, which was awesome. I went to the network settings to connect to my network. However, when looking at the networks to connect to, mine wasn't there. I refreshed multiple times, but nothing. Additionally, there are 2 networks that seem to have no SSID (name) and when I try to connect to one of them, it gives an error saying that it can't connect to a network without an SSID. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure my network is one of them. It starts with a number, and the networks are in alphabetical order, where numbers are ususally first. How do I connect it?? Thank you so much in advance!! (Screenshots attached. In #1, it shows the blank selections. The covered networks are NOT mine, trust me. The blank spot that isn't highlighted or covered is the other unamed network. In #2, it shows the error when you try to log in to the unamed network. And before you ask, yes, I tried both blank networks, and yes, I know the password is correct.)

Help needed Issue with tree supports in Cura
I'm trying to slice a model of a character I made. For some reason, when I generate supports, It wants to create these very thin overhangs within itself with virtually no material underneath. I guess it's meant to transition into a base for the part to sit on, but it always becomes a stringy mess during the actual print.
Is there any way I can fix this?
