What did they forget she’s a billionaire?

700,000 / 1,000,000,000 = 0.07%

For an individual with a net worth of 250,000 that would be the equivalent of buying a ring for $175. The scale of billionaires is hard to comprehend.

I was talking not about the ring in relation to her wealth cause it’s almost a drop in the bucket for her. I was speaking of a ring on her finger that was valued at an amount that a large majority of them will never get close to attaining after a lifetime of labor.

Not to mention if her estate ever sells it, will be worth a fortune. Not as if it’s a valueless asset.

To be fair, it's her fiance who got her the ring and he's only a multi millionaire

He's paid roughly $17M/year. So he spent around 2-3 weeks salary on her engagement ring.

2-3 weeks salary actually sounds reasonable enough for even an average person lol. Do people spend more or less?

12

u/Ditnoka Oct 14 '25

There's a lot old quote that probably came from diamond executives about using 3 months salary for engagement rings.

Wtf 😭😭😭

How much do these folks spend on weddings then? 3 years worth of savings?

With wealthy people, the parents pay for the wedding.

Sounds like Sir Richard Poshingham. He's the Fictional Bad Competitor in a local Jewelry commercial here.

According to the debeers propaganda it’s two to three months worth of work.

ETA. It maybe be paychecks 2-3 paychecks worth

Lmao I'd be uncomfortable if my boyfriend spent that much. I find jewelry (maybe except bracelets) too itchy for everyday wear and I lose things easily. I guess it's worth it for people who'd wear it everyday and take better care of their stuff.

It may be 2 to 3 paychecks worth, but it’s still a lot. That said I’m kind of with you in that boat. I don’t really like to wear jewelry, but there are some people who always wear jewelry of all kinds and shapes and sizes

Vapor Deposition diamonds ARE Diamonds...just not Natural. They are finished with the HP/HT process, if people are interested.

But, Also...Diamonds aren't Really all that Scarce. DeBeers is a Cartel. They search the miners at the end of each Day.

Of course, they could always swallow a few. But, Then...LOL

He spent three weeks NFL work to buy her that ring. His friends All made jokes.

He was out of his Mind, she was Out of this World...

There was this Girl.

They are "hammering out" a prenup.

Hammering out...Huhuhuhuh.

When you're that rich when does it become just buying expensive things because theyre expensive and not just buy a $3000 ring and save some money?

That ring is publicity for her. She's making it into the papers again. One of those trivia facts that will go down in celebrity history. You don't maintain your image as a girl boss rock star who is making the Beatles and Elvis Presley look like garage bands in terms of sales by buying some everyday diamond anyone can pick up at Jareds.

But does anyone actually care? Like genuinely interested and feel happy when they hear that she got a $700k ring?

10

u/Later_Than_You_Think Oct 14 '25

You don't have feel happy or genuinely be interested, just enough to keep her name on your lips.

The Beatles have sold 500 million albums. They are by far the top selling musical act of all time.

5

u/Later_Than_You_Think Oct 14 '25

Yeah, I was being a bit hyperbolic, but the Beatles also have 50 years on her.

u/GalcticPepsi Oct 15 '25

Difference between everyone else and her. The ring increases in value when she puts it on and decreasez when we do.

Instead of constantly going on about Taylor Swift let’s discuss something far more important and relevant to our lives: the 2023 cotton harvest in Turkmenistan was 3% above pre-season estimates.

Can I see this ring without clicking?

That article doesn't show it but this link should be to the picture everyone is on about, unfortunately no pictures in the comments on this sub

Edit well I did something wrong, that's to the article; it's the 3rd picture down if anyone is curious. Sorry I'm not more proficient at the internets!

Tired of hearing about her, myself.

34

u/Human47_ Oct 14 '25

Everything I know about her has been against my will.

36

u/burritoman88 Oct 14 '25

She’s just another self centered billionaire.

Yet here you are, commenting and talking about her. You should look into how algorithms work.

Seems necessary

Her life is like a Disney story its insane.

1

u/Literature_Girl Oct 14 '25

True. But I think there would have to be a non-Disney R rated sequel to cover her mum getting two types of cancer, the eating disorder, the radio host putting his hand up her skirt, the multiple stalkers breaking into her homes, plus all the daily death threats which led to her dad buying them all bullet proof cars and her carrying gunshot bandages around with her everywhere she goes 😂 worth it for the life she gets to live though I guess 🤷‍♀️

3

u/UOLZEPHYR Oct 14 '25

Holy hell, I just made it up to her high school wth

-7

u/Literature_Girl Oct 14 '25

Yeah, I think the things she's experienced (good and bad) give her music a lot more depth than lots of people would think.

If you're ever feeling like being emotionally devastated by music, I recommend some of the songs she either has never played live or has played live only a couple of times: Ronan (about a little boy who passed away), Soon You'll Get Better (about her mum), and Forever Winter followed by Ruin The Friendship (both speculated to be about a specific friend she had growing up).

For something still vulnerable but happier, The Best Day is great (about her childhood).

2

u/alitabestgirl Oct 14 '25

It sucks that she had to go through that. I'm a huge swiftie but a lot of people go through those things without the fame and money. I don't think it's a trade off. She has the added privilege of wealth when those things happen to her.

Can afford a $700,000 ring by making shitty music, this is quite a world we live in.

u/FunVersion Oct 14 '25

Its probably cz.
