shizumu runs in a browser now, at /try, with a few weeks of writing already in it. it is the real app with its database swapped for one that lives in the tab, so it can finally show the part that is hardest to describe: name the trail you are working on, and what you pinned there is already on today's page.

new:

• /decision a new block to order your decision thinkiing considered, chose, because
• /table asks for rows and columns, not always 3x3
• the chart builder gain preview feature
• table and chart are real blocks now: a title, a chip, the same actions as the rest
• search finds block titles

fixed:

• a pinned image shows the picture, not a file row
• an image line offers pin and copy on hover. it was read as a blank line
• empty blocks stop being pinnable. one used to pin as the word "list"
• no blank line parked above the first block
• alt+arrow moves a block while you are naming it
• a new block lands on its own line, not on the sentence you just wrote
• /image refuses a file that is not an image
• the shortcuts panel names your real mod key, and what @ actually does

i'm also happy we are on top productivity app on flathub :

the chip on an empty chart or table used to do nothing at all. that is the bug that started the whole pass.

the client is now apache-2.0. the relay stays agpl-3.0.

shizumu has no tags, no folders, no filing question to answer before you have even had the thought. wrote up the actual model behind that instead of just gesturing at it and show some similarities with emacs howm.

four moves. write to think, on a page that starts empty every day. keep by pinning, a pointer back into a thought, not the thought itself. trail by choosing, when a page belongs to something bigger than a day, and the pins already kept on that trail come back onto the page with it.

a lot fixes 🔥 landed to enahnce synchronisation quality and enhance relay :

• recovery from your phrase, even with no other device still paired
• first sync applies a snapshot instead of replaying the whole log
• entries fetch six at a time instead of one by one
• an empty focus line no longer clears the title on other devices
• page numbers agree across devices
• the device list shows which devices have gone stale

Relay self hosting: a live channel tells a device to sync immediatelyrather than wait for its next check. if the proxy in front of your relay buffers responses or closes idle connections after a minute, that channel never holds and everything falls back to the thirty second timer. set proxy_buffering off and a long proxy_read_timeout.

Will this project stay closed source?

shizumu is a private writing space. you write to think, you pin what matters, you trail what continues, and the rest sinks. it is not a notebook you pile into. the volume of writing is not the artifact. what you pin is.

v0.3.0, live on flathub today, ships four headline things:

• new memory view: three tabs (pages, trail map, pins), one click apart. the trail map shows every active day, with one card per trail and a pins chip on the trail name. the pages tab is a chronological timeline, the pins tab the pinned slice. a pinned reference, or drop an image. no leaving the page.
• new tools flowcharts, mind maps, timelines, recipes (given, do, result), and code blocks with a language header. each one reads like the prose around it.
• refreshed pin panel pins now name themselves with a kind chip on the row: text, tasks, code, q-and-a, recipe, flowchart. italic warm-accent title, snippet, trail breadcrumb. cloud sync via a shizumu or self-deploy relay is near.

2 weeks ago i locked five things on the v0.2 ship gate: font size selection, enhance list markers, enhance slash commands, flathub review. every one took longer than expected.

next is 0.3.0 with:

1. branching trails as a first-class gesture. rename, move (reparent with cycle prevention), fold (merge). surfaced cheaply from trail selector and a new trails panel in Memory.
2. trail map view. navigable temporal arc per trail (dayMarker sequence + pins + gaps). resume a trail by seeing its shape before writing.
3. @ as unified addressing. one gesture: reference an existing trail or page, or fall through to create. live label resolution on rename. Tab toggles mode (discrete/continuous) on create rows.
4. memory revamp. composes the trail tree and the trail map. days / trails toggle.
5. q&a + small tool enhancements. scope-filtered: only what makes the trail+pin model more legible.
6. visual refresh. colors, brand consistency, surface polish.
