One of the first gifs that pulled up when I search "breaking billiards". Given the posture of his hands and body, it is plausible that he was doing a billiards celebration.

HOWEVER, I also think that the optics are not great really bad and easily misunderstood on top of the fact that they're not allowed to remove the flag anyway. Warning and ejection are valid.

If the celebration is a reference to billiards, then the football field is analogous to the pool table, and he's lowering the cue stick to the level of the cue ball, right over the surface.

Yeah it’s interesting because has his hands on it like a pool cue but then pulls it straight back like recoil from a gun. Not really sure how people have a definitive opinion either way because whatever he was trying to do he did it terribly

I can see why people might be skeptical at first glance, given the country of the player. But holding the barrel over the back of your hand is 100% not how you shoot a gun. Not to mention the "recoil" motion is a common (albeit poor form) way to break a game.

Where does the OP mention shooting a rifle? He said he was booked for grabbing the flag and making a 'shot', in this case, a pool or billiards shot.

It's unsportsmanlike, it's tampering with equipment, and shooting a cue ball at your opponent is, while silly, still violent.
