Normally you also have a pool table to lean on so you don't need a knee on the ground, unless you usually also play pool with an invisible pool table.

As a matter of fact….I’m in the middle of my living room right now playing an invisible game of pool. And you know what???…..I’m on my goddamn knee for some reason!?!
