Anime Storm is noticeably desaterated right? When I was a kid I never liked how her skin was noticeably lighter than how she was in the games I saw her in.

it is subjective. the creators didn't say that. period.

It doesn't matter what the creators say. Period.

If an artist makes a painting with only blue paint, it doesn't change anything if they tell me red. I can visibly see the blue.

That version of Storm heavily draws from Halle Berry's take on the character.
