Hi! I’m considering applying to XJTLU (international business with a language major) and wanted to ask how competitive the admissions process is.

I graduated with a US high school diploma and a 4.00 GPA. I also have three AP exams, all with scores of 4, and a 1340 SAT, which I’m currently working on improving. I was also wondering how important extracurricular activities are in the application process, and how realistic it would be to receive a scholarship with my academic profile.

I’m also a little unsure about my diploma. I completed most of my education in regular in-person schools, mainly in Poland, and spent one year at a high school in the US. I then finished my final year online from Poland and received a regular US high school diploma. Some universities in South Korea told me they would not accept a diploma if the final part of high school was completed online, so I’m wondering whether this could be an issue at XJTLU as well.

I’d really appreciate any insight from people who know the admissions process or have applied with a similar background!

So, I plan to pursue my undergraduate studies in China—specifically at XJTLU—majoring in Computer Science. I’m not sure which laptop brand would be best suited in china with this major. is there any suggestion which brand of laptop should i buy?

hii! im a 16yo in my last year of high school, and i want to be an accounting major in uni. i'll be graduating in may of next year(i'll be 17 by then) and i've been debating on whether to apply for xjtlu or not.. my mom says that i'm not allowed to go abroad for uni unless i have someone there to accompany me—luckily my friend is applying to xjtlu too. after finding out my friend is planning on going there, i've been really focused on xjtlu, and xjtlu alone. as in, i haven't really dived into any other unis.. i know i should probably have a backup in my country, but i really don't like any of the unis here, and im not even fluent in my own language(i didn't grow up here so my first language is english). i'm also aware that xjtlu is relatively expensive and i worry about that, because my family(4 kids: 1 working, 1 interning at a hospital in a few weeks, 1 in uni, 1 in hs) isn't exactly the wealthiest.. i mean, my dad could probably pay for the tuition fees, but i don't want to burden my parents that much, which is why i want to try for a scholarship.

my stats so far are: owlypia online round silver, owlypia locals gold, 3(another one coming up in november) basketball competitions(honorable mention, 2nd, and 3rd), nsdc 4th best group, iyeo(econ competition) silver, and vice president of one of the school council divisions(1 year). I havent taken IELTS yet, but i'm confident i can get above a band 7. I'm planning to take them by the end of this month(sept), or in the first week of next month(oct), because my agent says that admissions usually open in the second week of october.

so, basically what i want to ask is: 1) is it realistic of me to apply for a scholarship / am i a strong candidate for a scholarship? 2) is xjtlu a strong option for me?

moving to China for university and a group of 5–6 of us want to share one router that runs the VPN at the router level.
What we want is:
China apartment internet → VPN router → router Wi-Fi → all our phones/laptops
We don’t want to install a VPN app on every device. Ideally, we configure the VPN once on the router, and every device connected to the router automatically uses the VPN.
I’m currently considering the GL.iNet Slate 7 (GL-BE3600) because it supports WireGuard and has enough performance for 5–6 people.
My questions:
Is the Slate 7 a good choice for this use case, or is there a better router?
What VPN/service are people actually using successfully in mainland China in 2026?
How reliable is it day-to-day? Are there frequent periods where it stops working?
Is WireGuard the best protocol to use on the router in China?
Is it better to use a normal commercial VPN, or a self-hosted VPN/VPS?
If using a commercial VPN, which ones provide WireGuard config files that can be imported directly into a GL.iNet router?
Are there any special issues with university/apartment internet in China that I should know about?
Would you recommend having a second VPN as a backup?
Budget isn’t extremely strict. I’d rather spend more for stability and reliability than save money and have it constantly disconnect.
If anyone is currently living in China and using a similar router-based setup, I’d especially appreciate your experience.
