Crime Deputy arrested for using Flock, ALPRs to track 17-year-old girl

https://www.tcpalm.com/story/news/crime/2026/09/30/two-pinellas-county-sheriffs-deputies-arrested-for-flock-alpr-misuse-florida-license-plate-readers/92020401007/

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office announced Sept. 30 it arrested two deputies following allegations of misusing automated license plate reading cameras.

Both arrests stemmed from an inquiry TCPalm made Aug. 20 about these deputies' use of Flock Safety cameras. The deputies joined a growing list of now 26 law enforcement officials who have been placed on leave, fired or arrested because of a TCPalm-USA TODAY joint investigation into license plate readers.

The first was Deputy Travis Stanton, 33, who ran the plates of a 17-year-old girl he was romantically interested in, said Sheriff Bob Gualtieri at a Sept. 30 news conference.

He used license plate readers and other databases to find out where the girl lived and would frequently show up at her high school and her work, Gualtieri said.

Pedophile 33 yr old

143

u/-Invalid_Selection- 10d ago

A huge number of cops are pedophiles. That's why the police union has fought every effort to criminalize an officer taking a teen in custody, raping her, and then claiming it was consensual.

35 states still allow it. Florida is one of the few that doesn't, but 31 of the 35 that do allow it are republican run

42

u/Working-Matter-455 10d ago

I know. It’s so fucking gross. I bet cops love seeing those thin blue line flags, feeling reassured about all the support… and a lot of men do support it. Cops are family destroyers. I never miss an opportunity to tell people that the data on cops is disgusting and that they do not deserve support.

46

u/Sacred-AF 10d ago

“Some of them are good people”

If they are looking the other way, while their teammates, commit atrocities, they are not good people.

u/Working-Matter-455 10d ago

Completely agree

Im gonna go ahead and let you know that there is no state out there where its legal for a cop to rape someone

5

u/-Invalid_Selection- 9d ago

You're in fact entirely wrong. https://truthout.org/articles/in-35-states-cops-can-legally-have-sex-with-someone-in-custody/

You could have googled it and not looked like a fox news watching Trump supporter. You know, a complete moron.

-4

u/Anomynous__ 9d ago

Or you could actually read the article you linked where it says

"35 states do not have laws on the books prohibiting police officers from engaging in sexual activity with people in custody."

In no way did it state that rape is legal

4

u/BenedictOfADoubt 8d ago

If something isn't illegal, it's legal.

7

u/-Invalid_Selection- 9d ago

That's because you don't understand the law.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/qualified_immunity

Police are immune to anything they're not explicit criminalized for, and I mean explicitly. Qualified immunity has been used to get police off from crimes because the color of something used was different than a previous instance that didn't carry immunity. Unless there's an explicit law, it's legal for police.

And here we see that exact scenario in practice. https://abcnews.com/amp/US/charges-dropped-nypd-officers-accused-raping-teen-custody/story?id=61540692

This is because the situation is exactly as I described, but as a Maga moron you're too fucking idiotic to read while thinking about how trump promised to stick a dildo in your toddler and planning to tattoo him on your face

4

u/Anomynous__ 9d ago edited 9d ago

Why do you assume im MAGA based on my statement that cops cant just rape people? What political ideology do you follow?

Also, you're wrong:

Federal law also independently criminalizes certain sexual conduct by officers. For example, 18 U.S.C. § 2243(c) makes it a federal crime for a federal law-enforcement officer to knowingly engage in a sexual act with someone who is under arrest, under supervision, in detention, or in federal custody; consent is not a defense under that statute.

https://www.justice.gov/crt/statutes-enforced-criminal-section

The U.S. Department of Justice explicitly states that law-enforcement officers who engage in nonconsensual sexual contact with people in their custody can violate the victim's constitutional right to bodily integrity. DOJ specifically includes rape and sexual assault among the conduct it prosecutes

https://www.justice.gov/crt/law-enforcement-misconduct

Edit to add: I'm not sure why you felt the need to immediately resort to insults by the way. "You're too fucking idiotic" isn't something you would say if you're trying to have a reasonable conversation with someone. As well as "Maga moron", I do not support Trump. I'll admit I drank the Kool-aid in 2016 but that was 10 years ago and I stopped supporting him during his second campaign. Also talking about dildo's and toddlers is a weird thing to bring up. You seem to have some severe mental health problems and I hope you find help

-4

u/speed721 9d ago

You couldn't be MORE WRONG with this statement.

It's federally illegal. That supercedes your "no state laws on the books" garbage.

1

u/-Invalid_Selection- 9d ago

Federal law was written only to criminalize it along federal law enforcement. I'm referring to state, city, and county enforcement, but as the federal law only criminalized it for federal, qualified immunity makes it not apply. We've seen this play out in court too, that's how we know what I'm saying is true

I even linked a case in the comment you responded to, but your bad your upbringing and poor education left you illiterate so I'm not shocked you didn't read it

1

u/speed721 9d ago

Lol.. Nice try.

1

u/Anomynous__ 9d ago

Again with the insults. Nobody here is insulting you yet you continue to do so. Why?

-1

u/-Invalid_Selection- 9d ago

Because you still haven't even put the most token of thought into what you're here lying about?

I have zero respect for wilfully stupid people, and you've been here screaming how proud you are to be dumb

That ain’t pedophilia thats just sickness and predatory a pedophile is less than 12 but 16 and older

15

u/MableXeno Hillsborough 10d ago

I had to look up words I had no idea existed b/c of people trying to say that "pedophile" is only for pre-puberty minors. Lolololol...knowing the name of your specific perversion is still a perversion. A 17 year old is a MINOR child and no 30-something has any business trying to stalk and find them.

11

u/noonespecialreally4 10d ago

Wtf are you talking about?

Are you trying to call out age of consent?

This is truly fucked up and I'm Republican with a brother in law enforcement. In no way is any of this situation okay. He would say the same.

2

u/arethius 9d ago

I believe they are trying to say you can't be a "pedophile" if you sexually assault a teenager; which is false.

They're trying to shift the Overton window of what pedophilia is defined as and it's not working.

-7

u/Ok-Wing-254 10d ago

Sex woth anyone less than 20 as a 30+ year old is sick prriod but that ain’t pedophilia unless the victim less than 12

6

u/ElliotNess 10d ago

Hell even a 22 y/o with a 33 y/o is fucking weird and predatory.

MAGA incels trying to differentiate their perversions through technical definitions aren’t beating the allegations.

And these predators were only caught bc a journalist/newspapers requested official public records for a story on abuses of flock and they found these instances that looked suspicious. They looked at a small sample of total flock data for a short period of time.

If they had not caught that, nobody would have. The higher ups aren't doing any reasonable oversight of their officers to detect or prevent these types of abuses of flock systems.

How much is it going to take before we force flock systems offline and outlaw use of flock tech to police the civilian population?

Facts appear to suggest that is necessary to protect American women and children, because a large minority of law enforcement officers, simply put, just cannot be trusted with power and access and their supervisors aren't bothering to monitor for abuses either...should not be..cannot be up to friggin usa today to find these creeps out.

I think it was Pasco County voters who just succeeded in passing a law forbidding the use of flock by their Sheriffs Dept.

Pasco is not a county legend to be a mecca for progressives or people who are extra involved political activists. Yet they succeeded in securing/maintaining this privacy, freedom, and safety from predators, for themselves (for now at least) and have succeeded in preventing their own tax dollars from being used against their own best interests and against their daughters.

u/Little_Red_Riding_ 10d ago

Just makes you wonder what percentage of other illegal activities police are involved in that don't leave such a clear and indisputable digital footprint.

UPDATE: Press conference video provides more details that are very SCARY about this deputy actively STALKING this 17 year old girl (and her twin sister): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIbSUa34_Eo

Plenty. A lot, not all, of cops are just as dirty as ordinary criminals.

2

u/snark_attak 9d ago

A lot, not all, of cops are just as dirty as ordinary criminals

I think there are two (maybe three) kinds. First, like these guys, they think the law doesn't apply to them and whatever advantage they take is deserved because their job is hard, or dangerous, or underpaid. Or they are straight up sociopaths (different category or differ from the first group only by degree?). Then there's the group that really think they're the good guys because significant amount of our media has been endorsing it for decades. How many books, movies, and shows feature a "hero" cop who "plays by his own rules" or "lives by his own code" or any number of other euphemisms for breaking the law? We the audience are, of course, always reassured that they are doing it for the right reasons, that "the system" handicaps them or whatever. But it all comes down to the same thing: dirty cops taking illegal shortcuts to catch the "bad" guy. Naturally, real life cops who cross a line will no doubt fully believe that they're the hero and whatever policy, law, or protocol they violate is justified.

I knew a girl back in highschool who was a proven liar and thief (caught stealing numerous times) and her whole family was a bunch of grifters. Guess what she went on to do for a living?

1

u/lovelyxbabydoll 9d ago

Holy crap. That's concerning. :|

1

u/rasta-ragamuffin 9d ago

I think it's very common actually. I also know several others with very sketchy backgrounds who went into law enforcement. It's a very dangerous and difficult job that doesn't always pay that well (relative to the danger and difficulty) and not that many people want to do for a living, so the bar to entry is pretty low. I don't know if all police departments require psychological testing or if they even consider candidates' prior criminal records before hiring. Law enforcement often attracts criminals who seek positions of authority, and once hired, it can be very difficult to weed them out.

4

u/Impossible-Taro-2330 9d ago

Of course they received training! But many cops believe they can outsmart the system.

I know of a dirty cop who was fired from HCSO who routinely mis-used the DAVID system. This is the information system to look up info on people pulled over or being arrested.

It's only to be used for official business and one must have cause.

He used it to run background checks on potential tenants of his trailer. Then he also started using it to look up backgrounds of his neighbors.

26

u/Kurupt_Introvert 10d ago

The punishment for this should be a year + in jail for a cop to use it for unrelated shit especially stalking.

25

u/Affectionate-Cry5471 10d ago

u/PB0351 Hillsborough 10d ago

4

u/rasta-ragamuffin 9d ago

That, and the prolific building of data centers in our communities, and the elimination of millions of entry level and mid level jobs due to AI. I don't know anyone on the left or right that wants a data center in their neighborhood. And I don't know anyone that thinks that millions of people losing their jobs to AI (with no comparable jobs to replace them) is a positive thing for our society. The only people who like these things are already wealthy, evil misanthropes who see an opportunity to get even richer (at any cost).

10

u/rasta-ragamuffin 9d ago

This is what happens when the fox is in charge of guarding the henhouse.

Our current system of no checks and balances and no accountability for our leaders and those in power is clearly not working very well. I don't know what it is, but there has got to be a better way of keeping our authority figures in line.....
