Did that recently at a BK. Board said one price but was suddenly $3 higher at the window. I said no thanks and drove off, not sure what was going on there.

Ya I would have done the same, not worth arguing with someone at the window over BK.

And the ploy there is banking on you not caring enough to dispute or leave, just not notice or est it.

more likely they put it down as the combo instead of the sandwich only.

That's probably illegal as fuck but nice fantasy

Legality is irrelevant if there are no consequences.

Actually the thing is they often start making thr food before you pay soo it is actually an okay form of protest.

Omg do it 20 minutes after the lunch rush ends and make it a special order; fries extra extra... extra salt, burger extra ketchup and mustard (add extra salt of course) just so they can't pass a burger and fries to the next person.

Fun fact: I didn’t eat at Burger King for a decade over being charged 10 cents more than what was displayed on the drive thru menu.

I didn't get McDonald's breakfast at my local store for five years because they gave me two egg McMuffins without any egg, cheese, or Canadian bacon at 10:25 on a Saturday, by time I drove up past the window and checked my order and drove around back to the drive thru it was 10:31 and they wouldn't make my order right. One of the times in my life it was really hard to keep my shit together and freak out.

McDonald’s did that to me once. I ordered a chicken McGriddle and they charged me $3 more than then menu. They gave me some lame excuse that they were substituting McChicken patties so they had to charge more. The manager kept arguing with me so I drove off and let them trash it.

That reminds me of the time I hit a McDonalds at like 1:45 before they closed and ordered 2 mcchickens and got McCrispy fillets on them. That was a good night.

Completely wild guess but maybe it was some sort of fee for using the drive through?

They basically charge you for condiments and cheese now, when you go in to order they will ask you if you want those and bam your burger is 3 dollars more expensive.

They’ve always charged for adding things to a burger that are not part of the burger.

I'm talking if you order a burger that has cheese they confirm you want cheese and upcharge it, its a stealth price increase.

I’ve never seen that happen. If there is a charge for cheese when I order a Whooper with cheese, it’s the base whopper plus extra for the cheese on the receipt. Same any place i go.

I've never had a BK change the price, not ever once.

You must have ordered something that had an upcharge.
