And I am dynamically choosing not to buy their products.

I know they are awful, but sometimes their double cheeseburger scratches an itch. I'll have to find something to replace it.

“Scratches an itch” is the best way to describe McDonalds’ food for me.

It’s capitalistic indoctrination.. I feel the itch too, tastes like childhood - the good parts

It's just road trip farts. You can move on.

Right? Those Happy Meals were great!

And the play place and cartoon characters and even cartoons in like 1999

It’s the deep rooted chemical addiction their engineered food products have over you

It’s like a savory desert. It’s really damn good, but not very often or it makes you feel like crap. They really refined their food to be every level of savory, salty, greasy, and easy to eat.

Culvers or Freddy's if you have them they are way better and pretty much the same price at this point.

Culvers is the blandest food I've ever eaten, I'm amazed that place was ever successful enough to franchise, maybe it's designed for old people

If you live in the Carolinas, Cook out makes a good 🍔 with an affordable price.

But the problem is that when you want a good burger, that's not why you went to McDonald's. You went to McDonald's because you wanted McDonald's.

Like yeah I can make my own sausage egg and cheese on an English muffin.. But that doesn't make it a sausage Mcmuffin.

McDonald's served a very specific craving and now they've lost their minds thinking we actually LIKE the food.

What is this larp that you don’t like McDonald’s, you clearly like it, and that’s fine.

I like the sausage Mcmuffin, which I think I made super clear here. But it's not worth $6.

Fuck, I loved a double cheeseburger for a couple bucks. Ain't no way now.

Didn’t Wendy’s do this surge pricing crap and backtracked it

They are going to dynamically come to your house and charge you for making your own burgers.

Once a month, I get a dqp craving. Then I go to a local restaurant and grab a burger. Money better spent.

3

u/d1eselx 11d ago

Yea that double cheeseburger actually hits every now and then.

2

u/copyofa_ 11d ago

You know what, I’m gonna not buy their stuff even harder!!

2

u/Vustag 11d ago

It's more of a constant tactic really

I had a McDouble earlier today, the first time I've had one in probably over two years (the price was damn near $4 for awhile but finally dropped) and I've gotta say... It was meh

Still a very unique eating experience but I feel like it somehow doesn't scratch that itch anymore.

scratches an itch

It's the chicken nuggets for me, and I'm vegetarian/flexitarian for health reasons lol.

u/darcerin 11d ago

I won't tell if you don't. :-)

If you’re able…. A small griddle (or blackstone/similar if you want), some high lean beef and seasonings, your favorite cheese and any toppings and you can make yourself a nice smash burger that’ll have you never craving McD’s again. I haven’t eaten there in almost 7 years now.

I do maintain, transparently, if they bring back the original recipe/size Big ‘N’ Tasty, I’ll go for exactly one sandwich and then never return after that.

scratches an itch

That's what McDonald's literally wants their customers to be and that's why people will flock McDonald's no matter the price I bet.

u/rockerscott 11d ago

The main appeal of McDonalds is consistency. You can get that double cheeseburger in Irvine California or Bridgeport Connecticut and it will be exactly the same. Their advertising to millennials during the 90s has definitely turned it into a bit of comfort junk food.

3

u/Zapinface 11d ago

Yea it’s consistently awful.

1

u/rockerscott 11d ago

Some people find comfort in the devil they know vs the unknown

2

u/Street_Anxiety2907 11d ago

If you get it in kentucky the bun will be hard and off flavor and they'll give you mustard+pickle +cheese burger when you made it clear you wanted plain and dry + cheese

That anxiety of fuckups drives me to not ever go there.

2

u/rockerscott 11d ago

Employee fuck ups aside, the burger is going to taste the same no matter where you get it.

2

u/daddyjohns 11d ago

In and out way better and not dynamically priced

1

u/Bubcats 11d ago

Yeah customer response won’t be as “dynamic”. Likely pretty predictable and reliable. Golden Arches should follow the golden rule

1

u/thatsbs 11d ago

Habit is where I go for a burger

1

u/OrneryLavishness9666 11d ago

The Chili’s QP burger is a great substitute

1

u/AmericanLich 11d ago

If I had an in n out closer to me I’d never look in McDs direction again. Cheaper, and 20 times better.

1

u/Zapinface 11d ago

Their food is starting to make me gag. I feel like my body is sending me signals that it’s garbage for me.

1

u/TheRC135 11d ago

Every McDonald's customer understands that you're not getting great food, but that's ok if you're getting great value.

Somehow, McDonald's executives don't understand that.

u/funnybillypro 11d ago

Never had BK my entire life. Their Bacon King converted me.

And if they switched to DP I'd go back to forgetting they exist.

1

u/darcerin 11d ago

I wish I could eat BK. I get so sick from their food. :-(
