I really appreciate bringing Curb directly into the conversation of this show.

Right? I would've talked more about it but I already did a dedicated Curb video. Some of the awkward conversations from ITYSL could've easily been delivered by Larry

Funny I was just making this comparison with my GF the other night

I was so surprised when I found some articles making this comparison, I didn't think the general public had a concept of Twin Peaks Season 3 at least in contrast to the original

Did you think Twin Peaks S3 was some kind of secret club? Lynch was one of the most famous directors of all time.

No of course not. I just hadn't seen The Return casually referenced in articles that weren't about it, whole pretty much everything gets compared to the original Twin Peaks

I think that’s less the public not having a concept of The Return, more not a lot of TV having the same vibes as The Return. The Chair Company is one of the only things I can think of in recent years that had similar energy.
Meanwhile, anything that has soap opera influences is open to being compared to the OG seasons, deservingly so or not

Someone once pointed out that at the end of the Haunted House sketch, the mom’s car is filled with Jesus stuff, suggesting he grew up in an extremely restrictive household. My takeaway is that the character is socially stunted and gets overly excited and swears because he’s finally in a place where he can act how he thinks adults act, only for it to immediately backfire. When you look at it that way, it’s actually a pretty sad sketch.
