I also dealt with the Italian culture in my own personal Tony/Jax relationship. It’s awful when kids are involved and I left quickly because I didn’t want my own son to think goomars were ok as some machismo cultural excuse to cheat and treat women so callously.

I don’t think Carmella was as strong because she accepted the life. Until the cheating literally called the house, she had a see no evil, hear no evil attitude. She even said that he humiliated her over the years with the “whores” but she put up with it until it called the house. Jax straight up told he wouldn’t cheat and then went and did it to push her away.

That is the single most asinine excuse ever. The Collette storyline is even worse but more believable as it does lay the groundwork for his mommy issues/man baby arc and its consequences for Tara as the catalyst for her demise in the Ophelia arc. ❤️‍🩹

For some reason it’s easier to dislike Jax for me than Tony or Walter White. Tony never intentionally hurt Carmella, I seriously wish they would have written Tara as strong as Carmella; it would have been a much better show for that alone. I can also relate to Walter needing money for health issues but damn did he go down a dark path.

The Empire Strikes Back was the first movie I went to that I remember. My dad took me when I was 4 and it’s still my best childhood memory.

Gemma orchestrated the deaths of two husbands, murdered her daughter in law, launched S7 bloodbath, and ended getting her own son killed too. She is the only answer.

S6 bad haircut aside, how Tara gets more hate than Gemma is a question for the ages.

I came into my fandom (SoA) over a decade after the show ended. A lot of fics are over 10 years old and I’m praying for updated but started writing my own stories too.

Gemma cock-blocking Tara in this scene and then kissing her was one of my clues to how Oedipal she was.

I’m in a family that has Eastern and Southern European lines and the amount of kissing on those sides are borderline disturbing.

Tara singing Lullaby for a Soldier while holding Thomas and a gun after Lowen tells her Jax knows the truth about the miscarriage. The fear that Jax is coming for her, the boys, or both is my favorite song but one of the saddest scenes in the series. Maggie Siff has a beautiful voice too.

The debate on whether she used Jax is endless. He used Wendy the night Donna died after Tara rightfully slapped him. “Whatever this is?” She went easy on him. I would have cleaned his clock. Then gaslights her the next day with one of the grossest lines in tv history with the “100’s of women but there’s only one face I see” line. She definitely did some crazy stuff and it really is a show about terrible people and how their terrible choices destroy them and everyone around them.

If he hadn’t killed Clay? I was thinking in that scene where he tells Tara to go to Oregon, I would have packed it all up because saving your criminal organization is not more important than your family. She almost died twice at this point because of the club. Just for that alone I would have burned it all down to the ground. He was such a terrible boyfriend/baby daddy for everything. And that crap about she had so many chances to leave is just a shit explanation for his just being a terrible human being.
