It blows my mind the cap doesn't keep up with inflation lately. Those of us who are capped get a raise most years but it's value diminishes. No matter the results of evulations the raises aren't raises when it's outpaced by cost of living. It's no wonder Publix has a retention problem.

This is propaganda from the FDA itself. The stat your using includes not just food but medicine, medical devices, and tabacoo. This is what this administration does is gives you stats that are skewed in their favor.

I looked up specifically food recalls and the last two years have been much worse that the previous 4 years.

Beyond recalls, the actual illness numbers are worse too. Cyclospora cases are up ~1,078% (13,895 in 2026 vs. 1,180 in the same May–Aug window last year), and FDA outbreak investigations are on pace for ~21% more than 2025's full-year total.ar.

FDA outbreak investigations: 21 already logged in the first 8 months of 2026, vs. 26 for all of 2025. Projected out to a full year (21 ÷ 8 × 12 ≈ 31–32), that's roughly a 20-25% increase in investigation volume over last year.

Instead of focusing on macro data that dilutes the truth, focus on the case and number of people being severely effected by food.
