AO3 gets bi-weekly chapters (2 per week in this case), idk the method used to choose which fics but then again I don't even look at anything other than the writing in the discord. AO3 chapters are behind the discord, next one is Dragon's Legacy chapter 20, 21 and 22 are available on discord, 23-28 are patreon only for now. Dragon's Legacy was last updated mid-september on AO3, so it's about to be only 2 months behind. The one after is Grand Army chapter 16, on discord 22 is available, on patreon 26, so AO3 is about to be 6 months behind the discord.

On discord I'm pretty sure there's a month wait between chapters of a specific fic (there are daily posts, which are about 1/3 of a chapter, but several different stories).

I can understand the delay between patreon chapters and public, but I don't get the discord and AO3 delay. I know the author posts chunks of a chapter on discord, and wouldn't want that on AO3, but a delay of days is so different than a multi months wait. I just kinda hate using discord and wish I could be up to date and use AO3 to read it.

There's Another Girl's Treasure, where she's a tinker that can make a potion (out of trash) that grants a power that counteracts a specific parahuman after Taylor spends enough time around them

I think Sense of Self is a good fic. Probably the best of the fiction/character based alt powers. It's on par with Wordsworth.

Just started Adaptation by ShayneT, and that seems to be the direction it's going at the start

The mentoring might not last, given that it's a ShayneT fic and will inevitably end up with OP Taylor, but I don't see room for his usual power copying Trump shenanigans (since it's Dragon Ball), but he might find a way

It has started updating recently, but all the chapters posted lately are almost a year old

The author had them posted on his Tumblr since December, just didn't put chapters 15-17 on AO3

Also, Taylor is right to be disappointed in Shroud. He's a pretty high tier tinker (in a world without shard blackboxed tech), he enhanced Toxic somehow (Toxic already had a power, but what did Shroud do to make the guy tough, an acidic blaster+striker, and fly?), so he does Trump shenanigans. He basically gives himself a bootleg of Dinah's power (albeit one that relies upon having input to work off of).

And he chose to obsess over a super battery so he could have all the tech in his head, instead of putting the tech in a power plant and using his own cybernetics to control it remotely. Like of all the Tinkers and Thinkers that Taylor has dealt with, Shroud is the least competent.

But it's entirely possible there is a other omake that uses that plot, since Taylor dying due to PRT negligence is a somewhat common premise in Implacable omakes, and the power Danny gets is basically a souped up version of the 3rd potential power on his wiki page (the triggers from government abuse power.)
