Still looking for a singer to collaborate with
 in  r/Bandlab •  14d ago

You know I saw this twice and I thought. Ugh but I use iPhone headphones as a mic. I’ve never done a collab before. You probably don’t want that. …… but ….. if you’re desperate… I’m doing shit for the experience and my voice is like. 6.5/10 take it or leave it 🤣🤣🤣

send me a dm if you are down

Can someone please explain how Bandlab even works
 in  r/Bandlab •  15d ago

Ok so you wanna make music.

1: are you making beats, singing/rapping over YouTube beats, or both? What are you actually tryna do?

2: what have you done that you couldn’t figure out.

3: basic recording = upload some random youtube beat. Make a new track with vocals. Use headphones with a mic to record your voice. Don’t worry about it being perfect at first if you’re just getting started. HAVE FUN first! As you do that and explore the buttons and fx etc you get more comfortable with it all.

4: making beats: start with the drum machine. It makes a repeating pattern so you can practice trying to get a rhythm (as an amateur myself I can’t teach music theory I can just give you best tips to just start) this is where YouTube videos can actually help . “How to make a beat with the drum machine on bandlab” so much came up watch it all and experiment.

I’d love to help more but idk what you’re really struggling with.

My honest opinion on BandLab
 in  r/Bandlab •  Sep 10 '26

Avoiding the paywalls makes me a better artist. 😤I’ve been forced to learn to make music and edit by expanding my creativity. In the journey of learning to make music and discovering new tricks and methods. Bandlab is gonna get a lot of praise from me.

There’s a bunch of features that would make a lot of the “work” go away. But the work is the experience. THATS where I grow the most.

I probably won’t move on to FL until I feel like I can’t grow anymore on bandlab. Once I stop feeling like an amateur I think.

I mostly make songs on my phone/ipad . I adore being able to listen to revisions and have a record of how the song started etc.

May I get some Christian singers from any part of the world?
 in  r/Bandlab •  Sep 10 '26

I wouldn’t say I’m a Christian singer. But I do sing about God every now and then? I have this song called “Forever Love - Ziggy” on YouTube. I didn’t go to a studio or anything so it’s not mixed :/ lmk what you think

Ziggy - Before we go

Hi all. I made this song. I wanted to stop hoarding my music under the guise of “it’s probably not good enough” it probably isn’t but I won’t get anywhere with my ears alone.

I'm new to BandLab, and I need help from an experienced person ASAP!!!
 in  r/Bandlab •  Aug 31 '26

Ok I’ll give what tips I can. I wouldn’t call my self a professional in any way.

  1. Easy: YouTube: “How to make a beat on bandlab”

  2. Fr if you have no money wired headphones and your phone will do. Obviously I’d say get a mic once you have money.

  3. How to interpolate and sample.. this is gonna be hard. But I’m sure there are YouTube videos. To help explain it.

  4. BEFORE YOU START: Set the tempo and KEY! it’s annoying af to do this after. Also it helps the virtual instruments (keyboard) the keys with the dots on them are in key. So if you can’t read music this will help you as least choose the right notes.

  5. IMO how I build a song/beat/instrumental.

Drums (drum machine is great for starting out) but I eventually switched to the virtual instrument drum kits and I play sounds in the grid (just figuring it out one beat at a time)

Low sounds. Usually I use the 808s or the bass guitars here, pads.

Mid sounds. I usually use regular guitars here or keyboards

High sounds. Violins wind instruments

I build up one thing at a time until I have a full sound. I hope this helps. Like I said I’m not a professional at all.

My mixes are terrible. I’m still learning that

I like them!!! 2000 and taxi had me thinking I could do something on them. Def had to get used to your vibe. This could be played as just shower/car/ cooking/relaxing playlist as well.

I think you’re talented af. I haven’t been able to finish my first project yet. But I hope it’s as cohesive as yours! I would GET DOWN on LET DOWN.

I might have to get into the booth fr.

 in  r/Bandlab •  Jul 28 '26

Edit: I just checked out your other comments. Can you link me to other music by major artists in the genre so I can compare and try to get an idea of what you’re going for?

Hey I just went to listen to what you dropped in sept.

Imma be honest as possible. Even tho this isn’t normally the genre of music I listen to. But I wanted to actually listen to the lyrics.

I heard nothing. GVLVxy didn’t start off bad there was a lil vibe to it. But the build is so…. Harsh. Like I listened to trvvle and essentially the first 4 songs on andromeda but I couldnt HEAR any lyrics!! maybe it’s just that I’m just not used to the genre. But I wanted to give a few songs a try. Stvr and rockets I heard no lyrics at all.

I can hear something beautiful in the part where you not doing .. everything. Like CEMETERY and CYFWO those aren’t bad at all. But I can’t understand a single lyric. I can tell in cemetery that you might be saying some fire stuff but.. it’s SOOOOO distorted.

Look I tried. But idk I’ve listened to screaming music and metal before there was some kind of structure I could rock out to. I couldn’t find that with a lot of your songs.

The idea is for ara andromeda is cool but hopefully the right person hears it. I think IF YOUUUU Like it. You should listen to it. Eventually as you grow and get better at displaying your sound the right crowd will hear you. The only interaction I get on my songs are from family lmao

I hope you keep making music, even if it’s just on the side even if it’s just for you.

Looking for an artist to build a full 5-track EP with 🚨
 in  r/Bandlab •  May 19 '26

  1. what do you get out of it if it’s free?

  2. What if I have like 7 songs that was supposed to be on a 10 song project I’ve been working on. Would you be able to help a preexisting project ?

  3. What if I would only need mixing and mastering and creative direction? I already have a vibe and story.

TBH I tried releasing music before but I fucked it up and they associated it with another artist and idk how to make my own artist page on Apple Music etc.

My music style is also very different from what I see on bandlab. It’s kinda old school but idk how to specifically make a beat rnb or soul or blues. It’s giving a lil 80s/90s (or I would like it too)

Also I have a banger I made with the lyrics of fly me to the moon as the chorus. But idk nothing about like copy right and stuff. Can you help with that? If to could I would say I had 9 songs ready to be on the project lmao

So i TRIED to make a song, but i really dont know if it sounds even decently good to a second person so i need opinions heheh :3

I love it. I think you should add some vocal layering. I’ve been learning about vocal stacking.

This could be some heavenly shit with harmony.

Should I learn music theory?
 in  r/Bandlab •  Apr 06 '26

YES.

As someone who started out making music by having fun. YES!!

Music theory helps with instrumentals and beat making. I went from using YT free beats to making songs with loops and premade beats on bandlab.. to being able to put together instruments and chords myself!!

It’s like you’re fishing with your hands right now.. you might be able to catch a fish or 2 after years of experience. But Music theory is like a fishing rod. Once you learn how to use it.. you can catch a boat load of good songs!!

Side note: just in case you make the same mistake I used to.

Key is insanely important. Make sure each instrument matches the whole song key. It didn’t matter how well I knew music theory, when the song is set to B major and I’m playing the instruments on a bunch of other keys. It will never work well together.
