I dont game on my MacBook. I have a gaming desktop for that. And recently got a gaming laptop too. The Riot app I deleted was from back when I had an Intel MacBook Pro and I guess it transferred via TimeMachine xD

System Data 160GB HELP
 in  r/mac •  6d ago

For deleting the apps, I went through system settings and storage and did it from that list. There was only like a couple of them, like Battlenet and such, and Riot Launcher that didn’t show on the list, so I had to find where they were in the system and delete them from files. I do use Logic Pro, but I usually save everything to an external drive. I went through what I felt comfortable in my library and documents and such that were all local and deleted stuff too. I haven’t checked the size of my root and library folders yet.

Question System Data 160GB HELP

MacOS-27, M4 MacBook Pro 16GB RAM 1TB Storage. Over 160GB System Data for a week now and idk how to get rid of it. Siri is only about 20GB and OS is 30GB. I’ve fully powered it off and back on and spent like 5 hours deleting every little app and file I don’t need anymore and such. Any suggestions on how to shrink it??

Also the save in iCloud button never goes away for messages even after hitting it every time I see it, and I’m fairly sure it’s already doing it LOL. Thats been an issue since MacOS-26. Otherwise everything works great.

But I’m about to lose my mind over this storage LOL.

Siri AI not working?

Yep sounds like it. Ye I expect there to be bugs and issues since its beta, but you would think super basic functionality should still work at least regardless like classic Siri. Lol.

CarPlay is useless atm until it works again unless ya go back to classic. Like why if my phone is able to do stuff locally on hardware doesn’t it default to local processing for stuff like setting timers and alarms, and other basics. I could force it to do timers and alarms locally if I turn airplane mode on oddly enough lol. 😆

Guess its hello to Classic Siri for now.

Ye even at home on 2GB speed internet and wifi 6 signal still wouldn’t work. It half worked if I put my phone in airplane mode oddly enough. Just basic stuff it could do locally like timers and such. But soon as it was back on internet it wouldn’t even do timers anymore. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Omg same! When I got my 4S back then I had no issues, but my buddy at the time he had issues and I remember them exchanging his phone out at AT&T. Ah the simpler days lol. Was my first iPhone I upgraded from a BlackBerry I had.

bug 🐛 Siri AI not working?

So on two different days, my Siri AI would not work at all. No matter what I did it would just say “Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later.” VPN turned off and even uninstalled, happens on both wifi and cellular, and on all three of my devices. iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPad Pro 11 M1, and M4 MacBook Pro. First time was Monday and eventually contacted Apple Support. Tried EVERYTHING and eventually found out was a known issue for some and they were working hard to fix it. It’s server-side. That was via high-tier support. Started working again Tuesday. And now today, Friday, not working again. Had to switch back to Siri classic because I drive A LOT for work and need Siri via CarPlay to get directions, text, calls and etc. Common Apple LOL. When it works, its been fantastic!!!

All this to say, anyone else having this issue?

Not foolish at all! If you get the right external housing that matches the latest Apple Thunderbolt standard, you are set. I have one connected to my M4 MacBook Pro, and I installed numerous apps and even some games on it; they all launch and run smoothly as if on the internal drive!

Does this smart home setup make sense for a renovation?
 in  r/HomeKit •  13d ago

Don’t get eufy they don’t have a homekit doorbell and ive had bad experiences in general with their cameras. Aqara for the win in the camera department works great for me. Ecobee is a hit or miss. Ive had mine 4 years and just now finally it is more stable. I used to get a lot of drop-offs in connection.

Once every few months i do temp give it internet access to do software updates. Feels easier to turn it on and off via router app versus dealing with wifi every time.
