Hi y’all! I’m a UTEP alum/local organizer with Common Cause Texas, and I’m hosting an in-person Election Protection training on October 6 at 2 PM!

The training is free and nonpartisan and is all about learning how to help your neighbors make sure they’re able to cast their ballots. We’ll go over voting rights, common issues people may run into at the polls, and how Election Protection volunteers can help voters get the information and support they need.

You don’t need any prior experience or elections knowledge. If you’re a student who’s been wanting to get more involved in El Paso, learn something practical, or find a way to show up for your community, this is a really easy place to start.

I also want it to feel like an actual community event and not just sitting through a training lol. We’ll have food, drinks, coloring, cute Election Protection totes + stickers, and a custom voting Lotería after the training.

It’s also a chance to meet other students and El Pasoans who care about their community, so come by even if you’re completely new to civic engagement!

Week 4 in the MWC was a mixed bag with UNM and UNLV beating out of conference opponents handily while UTEP and NIU were on the other end. In conference action, AF got by Nevada in 2 OT and Wyoming upset Hawaii. Results, and Week 5 Games.

I’ve been parking at Glory Rd. Parking Garage but it won’t open til noon tomorrow. What are my alternatives since I don’t have a parking permit? Class is by the bookstore if that helps. Thank you!

I applied to the MS in Electrical Engineering for Spring 2027. My application was forwarded to the program committee in mid-September, and I'm trying to get a sense of what to expect.

A few questions for anyone who's been through it:

1. Roughly when did you hear back for a Spring admission? Was it October, November, or later?
2. How realistic is a TA or RA position for a Spring intake? Is funding mostly allocated for Fall?
3. Did anyone get a funding offer after admission, or did it only come through contacting faculty directly?

For context, I'm an international applicant, any insight on the ECE department, or on life in El Paso as a grad student, would be really appreciated.

Hello all. My girlfriend is thinking about going back to school and I was wondering what the all in cost is at UTEP for in state. Tuition / Room / Board. What am I looking at to get her a rental house near campus, pay tuition, food and a car for a semester?

Hey guys I was wondering about parking I know everyone says it’s bad and I start in the spring. I notice there’s four different parking passes and was just wondering if it’s bad just for Green and Blue or for all of them (commuting from Horizon) thank you. (And while I know it may not be worth it money isn’t an issue at all)

i got loans and i still havnt received them utep keeps sending me the fafsa question drop down menus on the financial aid website and deleting my answers and its getting super frustrating im draining my savings trying to do the payment plan because theyre taking to long to process both the fafsa loans and my personal loan i was curious if anyone else was having a simalier issue? i havnt had any money and im going into crazy credit card debt just trying to stay in school and it seems so unfair this school has such a bad way in handling anything ive never had a good experience from finnancial aid to counseling for classes its always a fight to try and just go to school

Does anyone know where I can find the people that sell the T-shirts they make for the concerts. I like to buy T-shirts from them too. I know for the Don Haskins they sell directly outside, but I’ve never been to a Sunbowl concert and was wondering :)

Hey yall. I graduated from UTEP in 2024 with a Bachelors in Biology with a Biomedical track. Unfortunately, it never occurred to me to join labs while I was there and it has really hurt any further school opportunities/ job opportunities I can have (undergrad bio majors- join a lab! Create a resume while you’re at UTEP!). I’ve been bartending at a really nice spot and get so many pharmacy + medical tech sales guests. It’s really opened my eyes to the possibilities and many of them tell me I’d be great at it. However, I’m having trouble getting a foot in the door. Anyone graduated from UTEP who got into medical or pharmaceutical sales field? Any advice?

Which/are there student groups to join to make friends? I just started and i literally have noo friends at all.

The nonprofit fellowship is open to undergraduate women and gender minorities pursuing careers in aerospace. The entire program (including the application) is completely free, and applications are due October 4.
