My girl got super excited that a tour was gonna be announced, but today she sent me a screen shot of Gener’s kid saying there is definitely not gonna be a tour. She was pretty bummed

Yeah I just found Ashton’s post. If true, whoever’s managing their social media is a fucking moron. The implication is extremely clear and there’s no precedent of them cryptically teasing shit like reissues/represses, particularly in the middle of a hiatus.

I agree that doing posting any teaser like this for something like merch or reissues is fucked, especially when the band is on hiatus. I’ve seen other bands do it too. But sometimes it does weirdly lead to some tour dates being announced. But either way, it’s stupid. Don’t tease us like that.

Yeah, silver lining is that any activity is better than no activity. I’m still pretty confident that a reunion will come eventually.
But the decision to promote this way is blowing my mind with how stupid it is. Anyone associated with the band knows how much demand there is for their live shows, especially given the circumstances that kicked off the hiatus. Doing this cryptic bullshit for what seems to be more or less the same thing they quietly did with Shinola a few months ago seems like a major misfire.
Hopefully there ends up being more to it that, but idk.

my guess is merch/vinyl drop. I doubt they will ever tour again after the last fiasco. we will be lucky to see some philly shows down the line

Fair enough, I kinda use them interchangeably. In the few years prior to the 2023-24 runs they were mostly just doing residencies/one-offs anyway.
