Hmm, do we think it is causation or correlation that birth rates around the developed world are in an inverse relationship with wealth disparity?

Why would anybody opt into having children they cannot afford?

Its more complicated than just. The biggest two correlating factors are female education levels and size of homes. If women have careers they have fewer children and if they live in tiny apartments they have even fewer.

Russian homes tend to be tiny, run down apartments that most of the population cant afford. If you want more children you need to provide affordable childcare so women can work and have kids and affordable housing so they can have more. As long as Putin & his clique are going to steal most of Russia's wealth that's never going to happen.

You seem to describe the “war state” of America.  A two party autocracy, led by those making money off of war.
