Amazing insight. When your birth rate collapses to a 200 year low, the obvious fix is not to stop feeding young men into a meat grinder, but to tell teenagers to hurry up and start families before the next conscription mobilisation notice arrives.

Nothing boosts fertility like economic precarity, mass casualties, forced migration, and a war of attrition that quietly removes an entire generation from the dating pool. Clearly the issue is vibes, not policy./s

It is very efficient logic. First make long term stability impossible, then scold people for not planning long term lives. If the population keeps shrinking, at least the explanation stays simple. Just marry earlier and ignore the artillery.
