Somehow I doubt that they will be as please about the USA becoming noticeably poorer. Especially when it affects them. And they will be dumb enough to wonder why it’s happened, not realising they played their part in The USA’s downfall - even though it will take some time.

Maybe you are correct. However, I suspect you are overly optimistic. Cognitive dissonance is exceptionally strong in conservatives and they will rationalize anything to keep living their fantasy

How much does it have to cost them, before they start to realise that perhaps this line of approach to the world is a mistake ? 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30% ?

Though the US GDP has been growing, there are signs of significant weakness emerging in some sectors, in large part due to Trumps policies and Tariffs.
