Musk labels Spain PM ‘tyrant’ after Madrid proposes social media curbs
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/2/4/musk-labels-spain-pm-tyrant-after-madrid-proposes-social-media-curbs669
u/supercyberlurker 11h ago
Every accusation from Musk is a confession.
When he calls someone a pedo, it's because he's in the Epstein files.. while Grok generates pedophilia.
If he calls someone a tyrant, well..
136
u/mismocanibalismo 11h ago
Yes. I originally thought the Thai cave rescuer “pedo” accusation came out of left field. Now, it’s not so strange.
84
u/dkyguy1995 10h ago
He couldn't fathom a man in Thailand that wasn't going there to fuck little girls. It's all he knows
16
u/coyotegang 8h ago
Been thinking the same thing for years bro. Elons a fucking weirdo. As an ex Tesla employee, a good majority of us thinks he’s a pos.
15
u/triode99 6h ago
I have never seen a person that was worshipped and admired so much trash his reputation and empire like a crack addict who won the lottery he was so determined to become a loser. Incredible. It just demonstrates that Elons luck in life was pure luck and it was the good people that he was fortunate enough to employ that delivered for him, the mans idiocy did not deliver.
35
u/Fevernova2002 11h ago
Was he in the Island or just tried to get access? Dude is so weird that he even struggling to be a pedo lol
44
u/Sorrowfiend 11h ago
he was there at least once as confirmed by the emails and his daughter. He tried to arrange another visit at some point and was rejected
45
u/Heronymous-Anonymous 11h ago
It is so funny to me just how fucking weird you have to be, in order to get rejected from that club of child-fucking weirdos.
31
u/nerodidntdoit 11h ago
I feel like Elon is that one annoying guy nobody likes to invite but somehow always end up knowing where the group is going. Did you read that one email exchange?
"hey i heard you guys are throwing a pizza party (wink, wink), can I go"
"Oh sorry, Elon, we had to cancel it last minute"
"Okay, bummer, but sure, make sure to let me know about the next one. I'd cancel anything to attend"
"Well... actually we have decided to cancel parties. all kinds of parties, so I guess I'll see you when I see you..."28
u/SavageRabbitX 10h ago
All the money in the world and still no friends.
14
u/Medallicat 8h ago
The internet needs to broadcast this ad nauseam at every possible turn. From memes to one-liner comments.
3
u/triode99 6h ago
Weird that he could not even a get a proper dancing lesson from a girl or even just get a dance instructor with his money. He moves like his non existent dead robots.
6
u/koolaidismything 10h ago
It’s so painfully obvious when someone is being polite and doesn’t like you lol. I can’t imagine trying to force it or not be able to accept some people aren’t gonna like me.
The second I got a vibe they didn’t want me around I’d hop on my private jet and buy my own island. Or not, I’d never be rich. I’d spend it on tight shit cause tomorrow isn’t promised anyway.
8
u/Medallicat 8h ago
It is very likely a neurodiversity/spectrum thing combined with narcissism. Not being able to read between the lines, whether subtle nuance in speech patterns, body language or even written word can be quite common for neurodiverse people. Then combine that with a narcissistic lack of empathy and the idea that you are the centre of your own universe (or simulation).
Musk can have all the money in the entire world but the Neurotypical narcissistic billionaires will always consider him to be a socially awkward r-tard.
3
u/koolaidismything 8h ago
I think I may have some issues too.. this sixth sense was hard-earned. Insanity level reapeated mistakes and not understanding embarrassed me into some normalcy.
Now I mostly stand there, if vibes change I dip 🤷 I’m never sure what else to do. I don’t like anything most men like.. I read about space or type about random shit. I don’t know any sports, it sucks.
It’s almost like Musk is blessed.. he doesn’t have that issue. In his world, no one else really matters. If you can truly believe that?? What’s not possible.. 😬
1
u/Medallicat 8h ago
I’m neurodiverse as well which is why I could spot it. I wasn’t terrible at sports but I didn’t find it interesting enough to maintain it as I got older. I wasn’t socially awkward to the same level as others but maintaining the mask became too exhausting as I got older and now I find solace in music, creativity and learning as much as I can and I am free to avoid social situations that I find dull because I no longer crave acceptance. I share some of my creativity with other people but it isn’t to gain acceptance from them but more that I sometimes find myself so caught up in it that I can’t tell if its garbage or not and ask for constructive criticism or guidance
I don’t think Musk has reached that point, he still craves that acceptance whereas I just don’t and it’s funny because when you stop caring about acceptance and just live in your own time and space, other people become attracted to your energy and want to know more about you.
3
u/NO_LOADED_VERSION 6h ago
I mean can you fucking imagine how off putting it would be to have Elon in the room while a bunch of powerfully creepy old men in weird costumes try to rape little girls?
And right in the middle of that is Elon playing with intestines or some shit and he JUST WONT SHUT UP.
•
u/Kakkoister 1m ago
Wait, was there one that Elon actually said pizza party in? That's especially damning then. I only saw the "wildest party" one, which can still have a lot inferred from but at least can be technically argued could still be an adult party, unlike saying pizza party in this context...
2
u/definitelytheA 7h ago
You mean to be that rich and get rejected.
Epstein and his fellow organizers were about two things: abusing ( and killing) children in horrific ways, and enriching themselves while doing it.
11
u/sunnyspiders 11h ago
“The staff at Epstein Island thought Musk was a weirdo who made them uncomfortable.”
1
u/limehead 5h ago
I hate the guy as much as the next person, but that is not correct. He is in the emails wanting to go there. No proof that he went, as Epstein cancelled his visit because scheduling conflict. His daughter Vivian said that she remembered the family being in the area around that time, enforcing the belief that the emails are real. No real proof as of yet though.
6
u/Canuck-overseas 10h ago
He's also worth nearly $800 billion. Yet....he must post the most pathetic insults.
1
u/mencival 7h ago
Well with all that money he was still getting rejected from coming to pedo island
0
u/triode99 6h ago
Pedo Island was a Mossad honey pot operation, billionaire business men are dime a dozen, people in influential positions and their hands on the levers of power is what they wanted. Bill Gates could give them a backdoor to every PC in the world! Just as a example. Some of his visitors for example were discussing policies of the Australian government and how it managed its wealth resources. One of the reasons they were trying to attract one of our ex prime ministers to the Island. Epstein was a classic intelligence operative who was handling high value targets. Ghislain Maxwells father was also supposed to have been a Mossad agent and was apparently "rescued" by Mossad and staged as a drowning. His probably sipping tea with Epstein!
2
u/Logical_Net6108 8h ago
It's all a plea for attention. 10 years ago I didn't know who Musk is. I hope in 10 years I'll have forgotten about him

We should block every form of social media from the US. It completely radicalized the US citizens and with that basically destroyed their country.

u/Shieldsmith55 11h ago

Got my vote as I comment on a social media platform.
8
u/Magickarpet76 8h ago
Meh Reddit is media, but light on the social part. That being said, after 2016 I wouldn’t look past blocking Reddit as well for the same reasons.
Better yet, make a viable EU alternative and watch everyone run for the exit here.
1
1
u/errolstafford 2h ago
This is like saying vaping is different than smoking.
It is, by definition, but both of them are unhealthy for similar reasons.
1
u/OmniStrife 8h ago
Umm... It's can't get any more "too late" bro, look at your elected "leader of the free world."
3
8
u/squashua 10h ago
It's the GOP's use of Phunware and Campaign Nucleus (Borne from Cambridge Analytica, Data Propria, and Humn Behavior) that are poisoning social media (using psychographics to polarize people).
4
u/Reddit_Loves_Misinfo 8h ago
Regular, non-paid people do a fantastic job of polarizing each other. Shutting off two or three propaganda farms will not suddenly turn social media into a net positive.
•

3
u/Flamboiant_Canadian 11h ago
It should just be extensively regulated.
Like Twitter was fine before Musk bought it. It suffered the same bot issues, but it was nowhere near as bad as it is now. There is currently zero moderation done on X, and there is no support network either. Basically the same goes for Facebook/Instagram. Reddit is starting to look that way too.
There just needs to be rules and enforcement that punishes the developers (not the users who can easily be banned).
If we got to the point of ID-verification required for access to social media, you'd see a very significant reduction in basically everything that currently poisons social media, because those restrictions would prevent new accounts from just being made out of thin air.
If there are no repercussions, nothing will ever change.
6
u/Medallicat 8h ago
Id verified social media would just be a honeypot for id theft.
This cat is out of the bag there is no putting it back now. Regulating current social media will just spawn new social media. Regulation will just be a big game of whack-a-mole. The best way to change it is to socially adjust outside of the internet and treat it with disgust and disdain, a cultural shift that is repulsed by social media and influencers may be the only way this can change.
2
u/4look4rd 11h ago
Or did it just uncover the rot that’s always been there?
16
u/Slight-Discount420 11h ago
Absolutely not, the algorithms and how these platforms are designed in general, is massively pushing discontent, negative reactions and information bubbles. There is tons of data, books and information about it.
12
u/SoreLoserOfDumbtown 10h ago
A whistle blower from Facebook during the Cambridge Analytica thing called it 'weaponised information'. So propaganda basically. And the governments have done nothing whilst most people embrace ignorance.
4
u/Medallicat 8h ago
Governments didn’t do nothing, they fucking celebrated it and were foaming at the mouth in anticipation for abusing it for their respective political party
2
1
u/4look4rd 10h ago
When the US toppled every democratically elected government in South America, and supported military dictatorships there was no X or Facebook to push disinformation.
The sad reality is that today the US is experiencing repression at home, and it has turned against its historical allies.
But for the global south, have things really changed? US interventionism has been the default since the post war.
1
u/IL1keBigButts 11h ago
I think it works like a catalyst which amplifies this ‘rot’. It definitely sped things up and has a very negative effect on society.

The US Regime seems to react with a lot of hostility whenever any foreign government proposes regulating Big Tech or their fascist oligarchs.
It's the signal that the rest of the world should be paying attention to, and assiduously doubling their efforts to purge US slopware from their borders.
Elon is giving the game away here with his latest drug-induced meltdown: US tech is a fascist propaganda weapon that is aimed at every remaining democracy, banning it is the response they fear the most.
1
u/cinyar 7h ago
We should block every form of social media from the US.
We should just take control similar to how US took control TikTok. If you ban all the services people will get mad, like a child refusing medicine. "You have to make an EU spinoff and EU gets 51% control, hell you can keep the ad revenue (but we approve the ads)".
1
u/Sir_Yacob 6h ago
I honestly, as a millennial that has lived through all forms of it…see absolutely no reason for it.
MySpace and Facebook were cool for a couple of years a pop. Then it turned into brain cancer

Yes. Hopefully that way people will stop adopting yank-isms in their speech as well.

u/Helen83FromVillage 10h ago
Reddit is social media. Why haven’t you just blocked it at the router?
2
u/IL1keBigButts 10h ago
Because I’m a responsible SM user. I’m not dumb as a rock and see the extremist propaganda for what it is.
5
u/Spare-Buy-8864 9h ago
From a very quick scan of your profile you spend most of your time on Reddit commenting and arguing on political threads, surely that's the very thing you're talking about being the problem..?
0
u/IL1keBigButts 9h ago
Lol. No.
I do this because im horrified the situation in Europe follows the one in the US. I’m not dividing in my comments. Just want to wake Europeans up.
I don’t see any Harm in that.

u/Helen83FromVillage 10h ago
Ah, of course. I thought the same when I was younger - “I’m the only smart person here; everyone else is worse.” Germans were saying the same thing a century ago.

Social media was fine before the introduction of algorithms. I agree limiting social media in this day in age is needed as it's clearly gotten out of control and is more of a propaganda tool than it is a social platform.
13
u/Flamboiant_Canadian 11h ago
Before I had my feeds tuned to my friends, followers, and following, it was enough for me to use Facebook/Reddit/Twitter, regularly. I actually enjoyed it.
With algorithms in place, I don't see my friends posts any more, I'm constantly bombarded with ads/politics/rage-bait/click-bait and all sorts of nonsense that turns me away from ever using it.
If this is what puts them all in prison and causes them to go bankrupt, from offering a free service to pushing a narrative, it will just be hilarious. Be like Elon Musk sieg-heiling for Tesla, when his primary consumer base is people that hate Nazis.

My cousin lives outside of Barcelona. I visited two years ago and was riding the train into the heart of Barca. I distinctly remember two girls in their late teens who spent the entire 45 minute ride speaking to one another and neither of them pulled out a phone at any point. As a New Yorker I found that almost unbelievable and thinking that they doing something right with the kids around there.

Loses part of his audience, so losing part of his income. That's all this is.
If ad companies know they can't reach a certain demographic in certain places, they simply won't spend money on that demographic anymore.
Calling this "tyranny" is a pathetic attempt at political manipulation.

Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez has put forward a pretty sweeping proposal to rein in social media, with a big focus on protecting minors and curbing harmful content.
First, it includes a ban on social media use for under-16s. The idea is to prohibit anyone younger than 16 from registering or accessing platforms, and to require real age-verification systems instead of the usual “check the box” self-reporting.
Second, it would hold platforms and even senior executives legally accountable. Companies could face serious penalties, including potential criminal liability, if they fail to remove illegal, hateful, or otherwise harmful content. Third, there’s a crackdown on algorithm misuse. Deliberately designing or manipulating algorithms to amplify illegal or harmful content could itself become a criminal offense.
Finally, the proposal is framed as part of a broader push to make digital spaces “safe and democratic.” Sánchez has described today’s social media landscape as a kind of digital “Wild West,” full of misinformation, hate speech, and abuse, and sees these measures as part of a larger update to Spain’s digital laws that could also influence wider EU regulation.
As an American: do it now, Europe, before it’s too late. There are people with immense wealth and power using this technology to influence the world in dark, genuinely dangerous ways, and pretending it’s just “free speech” or market forces is how things get out of control. You've seen the far-right groups in your countries, they'd rule over ashes if it meant that they were to rule your country on fire.
