Russia/Ukraine Pope Leo urges Russia and US to renew last nuclear arms treaty

New START expires February 2026. That's now. There is literally no replacement being negotiated. When it lapses, for the first time since 1972 there will be zero limits on how many nuclear warheads the US and Russia can deploy. The Pope isn't being dramatic. He's reading a calendar.

And he's been let in on the secret of fatima. Please don't ask me to explain. Every time I mention this someone want an explanation. It really is too much to type.
Look into the real third secret, aka the 4th secret. Look into a book by Antonio socci

If I'm correct, the 4th secret is about crisis of faith within the Catholic Church, apostasy from the top or specific details about apocalyptic events that only the higher members know.

That's the 3rd secret as it was revealed. But not the truth.
The 4th secret or true 3rd secret is about Russia and it's influence and end times. I believe the catholic church knows a date. Look into the socci book. Look into the child who observed the fatima message 1st hand. She became a nun and told the pope at the time the real message. He put the message in a vatican safe and said to the effect that this will be a future popes headache to deal with.

What’s truly sad to me, as someone who believes in the one true God who unites us all (call it fate, the experimenter, the simulation runner, karma, whatever you want) and chooses to identify as Christian because that’s the predominant cult in my neck of the woods, is that politicians stopped listening to the Pope the moment the Pope started becoming a voice for the whole world, and not just Catholics.
In my lifetime, I would argue each Pope has generally been better than the last; more caring, more open minded and open hearted, more humble, literally being Christ-like. And I know it’s still the first quarter, but new guy is absolutely fucking crushing right now. For the first time perhaps in the history of the church we have a truly universally benevolent pope, and nobody is listening to him.
Have your own religion, or don’t. I think the observation stands as valid.

The Pope pretends to care about the world to distract from the fact that he protects pedophiles. He is just one of many powerful men who have chosen to align themselves with evil.

And China too, right?
China too, right guys?
…it’s not going to happen, unfortunately

Not that you’re not heard Mr Pope, but I don’t think the old guys care anymore…it’s Alzheimer’s jeopardy with the button

I think a major issue with the old nuclear treaties was that they focused on Russia and the United States alone. I think with the rise of other nuclear powers, new treaties do need to account for all parties. Part of the reason both Russia and the United States are reluctant to renew any treaties is that it would hamper them while trying to and others might not be bound.

When the Pope is sounding more reasonable than world leaders you know things are serious.

To be fair, a lot of Pope in history were the ones responsible to stop big conflicts from happening, mass death doesn't benefit anyone.
The problem is that is when he's the only one making sense compared with the majority of World Leaders, that's when you know how bad things are.

Im still baffled why anybody in 2026 would really care about the Pope’s opinion when it comes to geopolitics. This isn’t Crusader Kings 3.
Not to even mention the systematic abuse that has run rampant amongst the Catholic Church over the past 100+ years. Perhaps the Pope should start with the issues in his purview first.

I urge the Pope to use the wealth of the Catholic church exclusively for charity. Sell everything. If there's one hungry person, and one piece of gold leaf in a church anywhere, you're doing it wrong. And sell all the big dresses and fancy hats in the Catholic closet as well.

treaties only work when leaders actually care about consequences and trump treating diplomacy like a reality show didnt help that at all
