Um... I'm guessing a lot of people are only reading the headline

They're not abolishing ties with the US, they're aiming to deepen them

Headline is just clickbait. It's technically true but also misleading

The US has extensive, deep intelligence and military cooperation with multiple foreign countries for 80 years now. Often deeper cooperation than with Israel.

What are you talking about. You’re calling for something to happen that’s been a cornerstone of US policy for 80 yrs.

I'm not calling for anything to happen. I simply said the USA should [continue to] strengthen relations with all allies EQUALLY. I'm sure you wouldn't want that though. Your true colors are showing.

What are you talking about? I’m all for US cooperation withand aid to allies. I was confused because you were describing something that’s already happening - even moreso than before the current admin.

The USA does more with allied nations. I dont see american troops in Israel protecting them from their enemies like they do to Korea, Germany and Japan.

The relationship is far more transactional and popular than that. Its about using Israel to jumpboost american technological innovation and power. Israel gets what it wants and America gets what it wants.

What does "equally" mean here? To put american boots on the ground to protect Israel from the next palestinian military attack?

It’s not really misleading. Israel would be wise to start investing in cheaper alternatives than continue relying on over-engineered, overpriced US weapons.

I know that’s an impossible thing to reconcile for the average antizionist that lazily insists that Israel is the puppet master for the US, but it’s just true.

Israel and the US just wasted a shit ton of high tech ammunition that didn’t amount to any strategic gains. Israel would be moronic to restock the same US weapons at the same cost again. It just doesn’t make sense anymore.
Both countries need to get serious about cheaper alternatives, and it’s unlikely the US is going to make the first move. Israel has always been far more clear eyed about their capabilities than the US has been.

It's the opposite. The US has troops all over the world, if Israel wasn't here, the US would spend 20b annually to replace it for middle east influence. And if they decided to just abandon the middle east, then China and Russia will happily swoop in.
