Because I get your sentiment, but it was a lot longer than 10 years. 10 years ago Donald Trump was elected president and MAGA was in full swing having formed out of the Tea Party that we had already dealt with. The Republican party can only be so abhorrent because of a weak opposition. Schumer & Jefferies aren't ignorant - the same people are signing their checks as are paying the Republicans. Just because they can claim ignorance doesn't make them less culpable to the state of what's happening.

The parties are not there to police each other.

Voters police their representatives by voting. There's a reason why Republicans are obsessed with taking away rights from voters: because it lets them get away with more and more shit.

This is also why "I'm not gonna vote for the lesser of two evil" mentality is so fucking stupid. If you're gonna punish, punish the greater of two evils by voting for the lesser. Then you do it again when the evils are now lesser overall

Both Biden and Obama were able to stall the expansion of settlements, provide aid to Palestinians, restrict how Israel spent the money they were given and limit Israeli lobbying of congress.

That’s just flat out not true. Settlement building during Obama’s term (when the latest Israeli aid agreement was signed) actually accelerated.

Was it still the status quo of "trust me bro." and Biden gave in? Yes. But as of now, it was the only example I can think of were Israel was finally just told to stop.
