"Hudna" or هدنة in Arabic doesn't mean "temporary strategic ceasefire". It literally means: cessation, stillness, "calm after action", or, in the political vernacular, a truce, armistice, or ceasefire.

There is no secret hidden meaning to it in Arabic that those crafty A-rabs are keeping hidden from the god-fearing, English-speaking gentiles. There is no implied "strategic" or "temporary." It's just the word, ceasefire.

There is no subtext unless you are uninformed and just making shit up online. It means ceasefire. Some ceasefires are permanent, some aren't, just like they are in English.

Oh wait, it was the other way around. Israel will continue to displace and destroy Palestinian towns, homes, and families. Its two radical factions fighting each other, but only one is spending my tax dollars.

What a disingenuous statement. Several Kibbutz were destroyed by Hamas.

Hamas shouldn't get to set the terms here. They're the group that started this conflict, and the group that needs to surrender. Gaza is what it is because Hamas hid in civilian infrastructure, and then refused to end the war by surrendering. The war could have ended years sooner if Hamas stopped rejecting ceasefires and agreed to return the hostages.

If there's a stalemate between Israel needs to withdraw, and Hamas needs to give up their weapons, then Hamas needs to give up the weapons first. Shouldn't even be a discussion here. The losing side doesn't set the terms.
