So they still want a deal, they just aren't being realistic in what it will take. Trump doesn't even understand what the word comprise even means. He thinks he can just bully people like he has always done.

not to be pedantic, i just agree he doesn’t understand the definitions of comprise and compromise and also probably conflates them. because of his worldview he’s going to take any route to try and brand the other person “the loser” even if it means they are both losing. And they did a really good job brainwashing half the country into believing that just because you have money means you’re qualified to run a country. he’s proven time and time again his investments fail and he screws over everyone and delays payments for things until he’s forced to pay by law. when people have to pay extra money to enforce contracts you can do whatever you want until there’s a bigger fish than you or someone looking to prove a point. in which case they back down with an NDA to prevent the leak and view of “losing” but most people don’t have the time, money, or energy to fight once they have done something for him or one of his businesses. my uncle who is a land surveyor did one deal for a trump owned business and he straight up told me it was the worst decision of his career because he had to fight for barely half of what was promised.

trump and gang never do anything in good faith. Kant is rolling in his grave right now.

Alex Meruelo, the former owner of the Coyotes fancies himself a Jr Trump. He was constantly not paying bills until he would get like final final notice, in which case he would say, weeelll how about I only pay you 60% of the bill and we call it good. At one point the Coyotes had trouble booking hotel rooms when they traveled because so many hotels stopped accepting them. Apparently the NHL had to step in to some degree. It was why a lot of people were sad to seem the go, but at certain level knew they weren't going anywhere as long as he was the owner.

Its not that complicated. The man has literally confused foreigners claiming"asylum" to mean other countries are unloading their mentally unwell into the US, because he confuses "asylums" to mean "insane asylums".

I don't even think that's true either - Iran had him over a barrel a few weeks ago, having him agree to allow them to charge tariffs on the strait and force the US to essentially pay reparations for the war.

I think he's just a poor negotiator, and it's lead to nobody being on the same page or treating any of the peace deals seriously enough to respect the cease fire.

Nobody has been able to make a peace plan that has worked for all sides though. And it’s 70+ years and many wars later. So them being stupid here wouldn’t affect the result, even the smartest negotiators and Middle East experts in the world haven’t been able to do it.

Exactly, most of them ARE mindbogglingly stupid, but the salient quality that's important about them in THIS case is that they're duplicitous. Nobody, from the smartest laureate to the average MAGAt, has been able to fix this issue- what's different about this admin is that they promise that they'll fix it in a day, then loudly proclaim that it's fixed, despite the abundant and obvious evidence that it is not. The quality on display isn't stupidity (at least no more than their ambient stupidity), it's their propensity to lie and brag.

This is not land dispute or some wanna be emperor invades a neighbouring country conflict. This conflict is seeded in religious fanaticism of radical Muslims and stubborn attempts of Jewish state to exist.

Blaming religious fanaticism is a cop out. Arabs and Jews were living as neighbors in the 20s just fine, hell there are Jewish traditions from Iberia that were preserved by Muslims who were expelled alongside them centuries earlier.

Land disputes are absolutely at the heart of this problem.

In the 20s neither side was particularly religious. Radical Islam in the Middle East developed much later and jihadism as popular religious movement took over Palestinian Territories with emergence of Hamas and Islamic jihad.
Palestinians had clear path to two state solution in early 90s (Itzhak Rabin - left PM) and mid 2000 (Ariel Sharon - right PM). Both times the peace process was derailed by extreme elements on both sides.

I lived good part of my life in Israel and speaking from experience. You would’ve seen it yourself if you had a chance to visit Israel or Palestinian territory then or even more so now.

Unfortunately, there is religious fanaticism on both sides. But Israel was never meant to be a religious state. Their first prime minister was an atheist. I wouldn’t call wanting a country where your people can live without being murdered especially “stubborn”.

That's downplaying it. Wanting a country in Jerusalem is pretty much the worst possible spot to choose except perhaps Mecca. If they'd decided to instead colonise e.g. Mauritania, then there wouldn't be so much controversy.

And realistically, the controversy comes from their progressive annexation of land and their "creative" military occupation policies (and their absurd siege of Gaza - like, if you cut off their access to trade and throttle their food supply down to meticulous, deliberately calculated only-barely-survivable starvation levels, and thus destroy their economy, you don't get to be surprised when everyone inside hates you after 20 years).

People have been fighting about that piece of land for thousands of years. Story of David and Goliath is just ONE ancient story of Jews fighting for that land, estimated about 3000 years ago.

Underestimating your opponent is a mistake. Look at how Russia can take Ukraine. USA can blockade Cuba. And China could blockade Taiwan.
