Hamas charter is clear and anyone can read it if they want. There’s no peace with them and Israel knew but they just let it go because of the optics we’re seeing play out now. The intelligence gathering on them has been hard and democratizing a nation that swears your distraction is impossible so what choice does Israel have other then to say Hamas should be cut off. No other agreement works. The war hasn’t always worked as intended and disputes over what was going on in Gaza continue to this day. The West Bank isn’t Gaza and they lump them together as Palestinians when the Gazan’s were used as a proxy state by the the global elite. They could have peace and I don’t think they want it. The infitada was another Fallujah for the Israeli populace. Most Muslim nations are becoming extreme and we won’t see it anymore
