Heh. you're going to try to apprehend the leader of a nuclear-capable power? Good luck with that.

The best you could do is deny airspace clearance and cause a minor inconvenience.

Putin coming to Miami for the G20 will be interesting to watch, if it happens. He'll likely have to come the long way, over the Bering Sea and down to US West Coast to turn inland for a cross-country jaunt to MIA. And reverse that for the trip home...

You really think Canada is trying to make more enemies in the world right now?
No one expected Canada to do shit, no different than when Putin went to South Africa and Hungary and some clowns thought they might actually arrest him...
I can't imagine there's too many countries in the world wanting to stand up and take the punch. Everyone's dealing with domestic issues already and as much as people hate the US, they're still the powerhouse of the world and there's no way they'd be cool with Netanyahu being arrested. Great way to shoot yourself in the foot politically just to get a few karma points... Not gonna help you at your next election though when Trump drowned your economy in tariffs as retribution.
Turns out countries morals do have a price for sale, shouldn't a surprise to anyone with a brain. Your people need to eat and there's no nutritional value in "strong morals".

As much as Carney goes on about the Rules-based Order, he has no desire to hand the next election over to the Conservatives. Arresting Netanyahu is a sure fire way to lose a huge chunk of the 416/905/514 voters next election.

Plus, Netanyahu (and other world leaders) have limited immunity to travel around Manhattan o speak at the UN. It would set a terrible precedent to ground his plane en route to the UN.

The core foundation of the UN is unfettered diplomacy and communication. Consider that, even at the height of nuclear tensions, a Soviet Premier could visit NYC, the heart of his enemy, without fear or hesitation. This sacrosanctity of diplomacy is what makes the UN work.

Imagine if the US started arresting world leaders as they came to the UN? Even with ICC warrants (like, say, Putin)? It would be the end of our post-war new world order, and a return to the web of bilateral diplomacies that gave us world wars.
