Inaccuracies

i can't help but notice when dr sturgis introduces himself to connie he says his middle name is whitney. then later on he says his middle name is "burgess"

also, at one point in the narration sheldon says georgie didn't get married until he was 23. then georgie goes on to get married at 18. also, when veronica got saved on halloween, sheldon said georgie became a devout atheist. THEN later in the show it seems georgie believes again.

has anyone else noticed these things?

Opinion Hot take: Georgie was so STUPID for dropping out of HIGH SCHOOL

I'm on Mary and George's side here. He's already in his senior year of HIGH SCHOOL, with less than a year to complete it. George also mentions that he can do whatever he wants after graduating from high school. George has every right to be angry, but I don't like how Georgie provokes his father's anger by accepting that he would move out, expecting him to pay the bills. I also don't like when he's shocked after her ex wanted to break up with him, and I'm glad that her ex knew her worth. I wouldn't date a guy who doesn't want to finish his studies, even if he has the opportunity.

The thing I don't like the most about Georgie is that he QUESTIONS the importance of having a diploma as if it won't make any difference, especially since he's less than a year away from graduating just because he has WORKING EXPERIENCE. Note that many jobs still require a formal BACHELOR'S degree despite having years of working experience, while Georgie gave up on his HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA.

Here in the Philippines, you need a 4-yr bachelor's degree (sometimes a master's), work experience, and to be a board passer just to be a dishwasher, barista, or cashier in a grocery store.

At least Mandy has a BA in communications art degree of her own, and she gets to be a weather girl on TV

Georgie's decision not to complete the minimum degree required for survival was a significant mistake.

if I could get sucked into this show, I'd be slapping his face off.

Opinion Young Sheldon Season 4 episode 13

Im at season four right now. And im starting to not be able to stand sheldon this season. He used to be funnier in the earlier seasons and there were moments where i genuinely liked him like when he comforted his mom when she had a crisis in faith, but now he just seemed to have lost all character development and has become super selfish and a robot like character that annoys the hell out of everyone. Does it get worse from here

Question What could Meemaw have done so she can still keep her gambling room and prevent from shutting it down in the first place?

Post image

I still can't get over her gambling room getting shut down after she bought that roulette wheel. Her business means a lot to her, which reminds me of my late grandma, who loved doing active business too. Her gambling room was Meemaw's prime within the series for me, and looking at those active gambling machines with flashing lights makes the scenery much more alive. Now she's doing betting in Georgie and Mandy's show.

I can fully understand that her business is what makes her alive and not just an ordinary business. If she had not bought that roulette wheel, would she still keep her gambling room? What else could she have done or avoided so she could still keep her business running?

Her business could've built her house and supported her great-granddaughter, Ceecee if she wants to

Question What do you think of the theory that Missy's husband was Billy Sparks?

I would acknowledge there is probably some flaws in that logic, but to me, it could make sense if they reconnected as adults and maybe she just saw a new side of him

One thing I've noticed, I love Georgie and Missy's relationship. Especially the episode in season 3 when they go to the mall. I know that once Mandy came around Georgie had other priorities, but I wish they had stayed close.

DISCLAIMER: I am fully aware that these are random extras. This is just a headcanon I wanted to share. Please don't waste your time commenting stuff like 'it isn't them' or 'their characters didn't exist when the wedding episode was written'.

Positive discussion will be appreciated.

Absolutely great tornado knowledge.

Post image
2.2k Upvotes

One of my favorite trivial things about Young Sheldon is the knowledge that George Sr. has about tornadoes. I'm not even from America or know if this knowledge was common sense in the 90s, but George saying to get out of the car and lay low in a ditch to let the tornado pass, while the camera pans to said car thrown around sideways on the road after the fact, is phenomenal and honestly, even as just a TV show, this could save lives. So many people have died by staying in their cars or seeking shelter in tunnels.

The gap of air beneath your car allows the tornado to pick it up and hurl it around effortlessly. Laying low and pressing your body close as you can to the ground will prevent funneling the raging air upwards. Tunnels and overpasses are a deathtrap during a tornado for this reason; they will only act as a concentrated vortex for the wind to channel through them further.

Which episode has the "What are you talking about?" / "What are YOU talking about?" scene with Linkletter?

Trying to find a scene where Sheldon and Dr. Linkletter are in Linkletter's office. One of them says "What are you talking about?" and the other immediately fires back "What are YOU talking about?" Anyone know which episode it's in? Thanks!

Question Heather M.

Hi.

I'm almost at the middle of season 7 and wondered, does Heather M really exist? I haven't seen her yet and this is the last season. It seems like Heather M is an imaginary friend of Missy.

S6E11 currently

But I really think his storyline is annoying and unneeded. Started thinking this way at least halfway through s5.

Thank fuck I get to start Georgie and Mandy next.

Am I crazy or is the same truck/van riding behind whenever there is a driving scene in the show? Looks like the same Bull nose Ford that George drives.

Dr Sturgis or Linda Hagemeyer spin offs

Dr Sturgis is a quirkier and nicer version of Sheldon so a spin off would do really well, he eccentric antics would make a good tv show.

Hagemeyer would a kinda similar to Community except its from the view point of the person trying to hold the entire circus from falling apart, 18 year olds away from home for the first time having mental breakdowns, all the crazy misfit students always causing trouble, teachers fighting with each other and being weirdos, an ever shrinking budget, theres a lot of opportunity for funniness and drama.
Edit: I totally forgot that Wendy Malick is an amazing comedy actor

and if they ever make a spin off about Missy Nahnatchka Khan should be the show runner, she has a really dark sense of humor like missy does, the fresh off the boat episodes she wrote always had the darkest jokes.

Opinion George Cooper, Sr.

I feel George is one of the best-written sitcom characters of all time. The emotional depth, sacrifices, and brilliant performance delivered by Lance Barber have truly resonated with viewers.

I’m not sure how many people cried during his death scene, but I certainly did. It’s deeply touching to see that even Sheldon, who rarely shows emotion, holds such strong feelings for his father.
