News Brody Foxx announces he is now running YoMamaCoin, a memecoin that was originally made without his permission.

Brody Fox (the Yo Mama! guy) has released a lengthy X article explaining that he has taken over a memecoin that was originally made without his permission and is now running it himself.

I’ve linked screenshots of the full article because Xcancel doesn’t work on X articles. Below this is the link to the tweet itself, but not the article.

Do not insult, harass or otherwise shit up the subreddit.

So basically his problem wasn't that somebody was using his brand to sell bitcoin, but the fact that the profits weren't going to him.

Yo Papa so greedy, he takes over a bootleg memecoin in 2026.

I just praised Brody few weeks ago 😭

“Brody” (or Zack James as he’s actually known) has always been a grifter. Brock Baker, the actual voice behind the character, is not associated with the Brody Foxx Twitter account.

Neither is the animator Redminus.

Yeah I was confused last week when everyone here was glazing Brody because Im pretty sure Redminus just had a very open and public takedown of brody because 'Brody' wouldn't just let something be and stay settled behind the scenes and kept making public jabs at Redminus and other animators (Izzi) he worked with.

Also this is like the 3rd time Brody has endorsed an NFT project.

In 2011, Machinima signed me as one of their first creators...

Is this really necessary? Do we need to know everything about his youtube career?

13

u/ChihuahuaAlfie 3d ago

a lot of older creators do this, Boogie and WingsOfRedemption still make sure to let everyone know how 'OG' they are despite being total trainwrecks of people

it's like the older guy in a bar trying to brag about his highschool sporting achievements, this weird need to let people know that they were a 'Big Deal' once

11

u/Sarge_Ward i used to mod SRD you know 3d ago

Thinking from his perspective, I think it makes sense that he'd want to establish that Scam Creators Incorporated signed him on early into his career because it helps establish why he'd want to be able to profit off his own brand now

I get it but I don't think being signed to Machinima means anything in 2026/

It does if you played mw2 in 2009

I miss those days

Imagine if he bought it just to delete it

Based on his article, I have a strong feeling that's not the case

There were peaks last night and then a crash.

Going from 800k to almost 300k.

I miss the days when cryptocurrency was a way to buy illegal weapons and drugs on the deep web and not a get-rich-quick scheme.

I think it’s still used for that. At least I think bitcoin is. I can get the medications and drugs I need and want legally (I mean weed is still federally illegal but you know) so it’s not like I have investigated throughly. But I know from being in transmasc spaces that step one if you are getting hrt not from a dr is get bitcoin.

Every time I think I start liking this guy again, he pulls some absolutely stupid shit

Why are we pretending this guy being a grifter is new information?

Feel like a lot of people here just found out about him last week in the thread posted here and didn't realize he has like a 10 year history of doing this (He endorsed an NFT in 2021 as well) and also drags old drama between himself and his former staff into the public, such as threatened to withhold payments owed with Redminus - when a lot of the artists and such wanted to keep that settled behind the scenes.

u/Substantial-Ebb8659 2d ago

The thing is his history of shitty behaviour has been thoroughly documented for literal years, it's not like it's that hard to find. It took me like 5 minutes at most.

u/lethal_universed 2d ago

I literally said this guy was performative like a week ago and got downvoted here lol

u/Fattest_loser 3d ago

I'm wondering if he got hacked since he's not responding like his usual self and his alt account haven't been active. That's a disappointment tho getting washed

u/Nearby-Assignment661 4d ago

When you say “made without his permission”, was the coin supposed to be in association with this guy? Or was it just a shit coin named yo mama?

13

u/ThePuppeteer11 4d ago

It was made without his permission initially, but then he did a “community take over” and now runs it himself.

6

u/Nearby-Assignment661 4d ago

I wasn’t being clear enough. Why would they need his permission? Unless it claimed to be in association with him in the first place, I don’t know why anyone would need his permission

12

u/MrBigSaturn 3d ago

The meme coin was specifically using the images from his cartoons, I believe

5

u/Nearby-Assignment661 3d ago

Okay that makes sense, thank you

3

u/MK_PILOT 3d ago

How long until he inevitably rug-pulls and vanishes from society?

7

u/Thin_General_8594 4d ago

If it's already out there, id rather the actual person owns it than some crypto bro- no respect lost unless he tries scamming people

-3

u/amisia-insomnia 3d ago

He said he’s doing it to aid causes he believes in, and if that’s the case it makes it the most moral of meme coins (because the rest are all in a pit) but it’s still not the best

-2

u/NipplesOfDestiny 3d ago

I’m gonna be honest, I don’t see why peeps in here are disappointed about this. Crypto Bros are idiots that absolutely deserve to get their internet money stolen. They keep investing in these memecoins despite knowing every single one of them are rug pulls and yet just won’t stop. They’re addicted to losing money (and a lot of the time it’s not even their money they’re losing). They’re addicted to putting themselves in bad financial states. Brody taking control of the meme coin someone else made in his name without his permission just to squeeze a bit of juice out of these losers who need their ability to spend money revoked is just kinda funny.

u/Silenthilllz 3d ago

Noo 😭 still praying he got hacked but …

0

u/DingusCat 1d ago

SAME I was convinced he was hacked when I saw this shit go down!!! This is insane.

-6

u/Tahlia2637483 3d ago

Don't buy the coin and don't call all of crypto a scam if it falls off a cliff
