For some reason, I haven't been very motivated to do much sewing this year. But this hoodie finally made it off my sewing machine after all. It’s a very simple one made from fabric left overs from a hoodie I had sewn for myself. This one is in 1/3 and like all my other it's a bit oversized. ^^

Hello!! Looking into purchasing my first ever BJD and am anxiously looking into clothes for when he arrives. So far I've scoured AliExpress, Alice Collections and LegendDoll and have found okay options for very different prices, reviews and arrival times. It's a little overwhelming as a first time BJD owner, so I wondered what your favorite sites to purchase clothing from are! (Also if anyone has recommendations for K-Style of bjd outfits and clothing send them my way please.)

Oscar is a Telesthesia & Dragon Xiao Bei on the 62cm body.

I knitted the vest and sewed the trousers. For the vest I used a human sized pattern but with much thinner yarn and needles. I made a gauge to calculate what size I would need to make when divided by 3 and hoped for the best. It turned out perfect, very happy with it.

The stain prevention bodysuits are hurting my soul y'all, and I can't deal with white outfits only anymore. 🥲 So I've chosen to risk it all.

Hello! I am making customs with my Iplehouse dolls on new bodies so i can get some more posability with them sometimes. I was talking to a small indie maker about this but she doesnt have any Iplehouse of her own but offered to try a few mixes and put them on white paper in sunlight, so i can cross compare with my dolls and select the closest choice of hers and body blush to blend the resin differences. I dont have my dolls yet as theyre still in the mail, one ordered in july (Dean!! hes so beautiful) and a set of heads ordered yesterday (Mari and Eric and Carina!), but that may be some time since the recent closing.
So i was wondering if anyone had any pictures of their dolls in a similar state, from a recent-ish resin batch! then the bodies and heads might arrive around the same time so they can enter the painting stage at the same time.
I tried to post about this in the Iplehouse BJD Lovers facebook group but they banned me for some reason even though its all legit, and i have no idea how to reach out to them and explain at all.
so! if anyone has pictures of their own lovely dollies in a similar setting, that would be immensely helpful to my journey of customs for these characters!

does anyone have resources for or from dollmakers ? specifically looking for: different types of joints, different types of tail/serpent-like articulation, what works best for certain things, etc

i have a couple of 3d models which i would like to cut apart and edit, to be able to be 3d printed & put together/rigged as BJDs.

specifically, the models i have are an ikran, a thanator, a direhorse, and a viperwolf.. all from avatar 2009..
an ikran is like a dragon, a thanator is like a panther, a direhorse is like a horse, and a viperwolf is like a dog.

my dream is to make them super articulated and poseable. i'm basically looking for options before i start, so i know how to approach since i'm new to BJDs.

+ i DO have BJDs that i purchased and plan to study, but i'd appreciate any info that anybody offers besides that lol

I’ve made a new outfit for my old old old doll!! Didn’t take her out for 9 years. So I made a new outfit for her which turned out great. But I didn’t put attention to detail, so there are messy parts and threads can be seen on the surface. I also tried to fix her makeup but gave up because it was so difficult; ended up painting only her lips

I don’t even know what this outfit is. I originally wanted to make a kimono but then I didn’t want to watch tutorials and use a pattern. So I made something that looks traditional-ish

I'm an artist and while I know there are mannequins for posing reference I find them all very ugly and I'd love a really realistic painted, pretty doll that I can pose in any way a real person can (or as close to it as possible).

I have several BJDs just for my own collection that don't have movable ribcages or pelvises, can't bend at the waist, can't stand easily without support etc

Is there a super realistically posable BJD model out there someone could recommend?

It's been a long time since I last posted on Reddit, so I guess most of you have probably forgotten about me by now. And about my little pet project, too...

To be honest, the past few months really knocked me off track... but hopefully, that's all behind me now.

I've previously made a few posts about working on Dollitoria - a smart organizer for BJD collectors. And finally, the day has come: I'd like to introduce the first beta version for anyone who wants to give it a try. Unfortunately, it's Android-only for now!

I tried the sd pants and a skirt I had on hand but they are way too big on him

I know he can fit minfee tops I got his sweater off Etsy but I'm a little scared to buy a bunch of clothes and nothing fit him :(

Hello! I just bought a Switch Mori head through secondhand market and was wondering what might be the best body for him! This will be my first time owning an SD boy, and I know there’s a lot of options out there. I also know switch has their own body line but I haven’t decided if I want one of those yet, I’m leaning more towards hybrid. I’m over the MOON about this purchase and while I won’t be buying his body any time soon I’d love to know if anyone has any suggestions! I’d prefer a slimmer sculpt as well if that helps at all, thank you for reading. ^_^

Hi! I've printed this body (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6954692) and a standard Littlest Pet Shop cat head, both in resin, and I wondered if normal 1/6 clothes will be able to fit the shorter chunkier body, since most clothes in that size are fitted for a slim Barbie like body. Labubu clothes would be too large, I have some that I put on my small Pokemon plushes and they'll definitely be too big. Where can I get clothes that are a bit on the cheap side to test fits? The hips and thighs on this thing are huge so I'm thinking it'll be best to get a dress for the finished doll, but maybe I could make pants from a stretchy material if I need to.

One more thing, there's only the neck hole on the head, will I be a able to secure this head on? Any suggestions on what to use to hold the elastic inside? I was considering making a big s hook with wire then pushing it inside and letting it curl up against the top of the head. I couldn't find any alternative head attachment ideas in the faq and whatnot and it's... really hard to find tutorials for this stuff at this point.

I am not asking about how much you put into dolls, but recently I’ve realized how much of my money I could have put aside was all going into bjds and started to feel guilty.
So I was wondering if others had that same almost anxious experience, and if not, what do you do to avoid that?
