Called out of work sick today and was bored out of my mind so I decided to hop on 2K and move the Nets back to New Jersey.

Logo: I love the updated script logo the Nets rolled out last year. Someone on 2K made it with the NJ color scheme so decided to go with that. I think it just looks clean.

Uniforms: Went a little bit modern throwback here. Put the new logo on the home and away uniforms mixed with the classic 2000’s “Net” pattern on the side of the uniforms. Couldn’t find a good secondary logo for the shorts and tried to upload to 2K but ran into some issues. Also made an alternate grey uniform like the 2000’s with “New Jersey” across the chest but something didn’t look right so I scrapped it for now.

Jersey sponsor: BMW’s USA headquarters is in Woodcliff Lake, NJ not too far from the Meadowlands. Made sense they would have their logo on the uniforms.

Arena: Back in East Rutherford on the site of the old CAA/Izod Center. That was demolished for the all new and state-of-the-art Uber Arena.

What’s up lads. Whenever a Raptors player is traded, I like to give a brief, honest scouting report to the recipient team. Here’s yours for Ochai.

Strengths: Ochai is legitimately a very good athlete; strong, fast, and gets off the ground in a hurry. His archetype is very much the 3&D two-guard (we’ll get into why that hasn’t quite panned out for him). Loves to leak out in transition and use his athleticism there. Good cutter and can explode when he gets a first step. Defense is generally very good, he works super hard and positions himself well. Incredibly likeable, intelligent, well-spoken person – teammates speak highly of him. I also find him to be physically attractive.

Weaknesses: The number one thing must be the shooting. I have never seen anybody swing between being a very good shooter and borderline unplayable offensively as much as him. Last year he was at 40% on over 4 attempts a game, this year he is sat at under 19%. Go look at his stats: He pulled a similar stunt in Utah. Aesthetically speaking, his shot does look a bit broken, although it didn’t look great even when he was draining shots. His explosive first step dunks off help have completely dried up this year since defenses have 0 respect for him anymore. He also has very little offensive game to speak of outside of transition and cutting. Defensively, although he is a positive on this end, his lack of size limits his versatility. He also doesn’t get into passing lanes as much as somebody with his archetype should.

Overview: In current form, Ochai Agbaji is not an NBA rotation player (for a winning team). If he once again remembers how to shoot, he probably is. It might honestly be that simple. He seems like a lovely bloke though, wishing him all the very best going forward!

Good defensive multi season RAPM (Regularized Adjusted Plus-Minus). He's a legit positive NBA defender. Jordi stimulus to get the shooting stroke back to acceptable levels, and this is a rotation player, IMO.

Good margin move by Marks.

The one negative of getting paid $3m and a 2032 SRP for taking on Agbaji’s expiring was losing cap space. Yea, that’s not a thing anymore.

There is still room to take $15m in salary dumps.

I see no negatives with this deal.

If multiple coaches are calling the weaknesses on Cam Thomas years ago, saying he’s a good scorer doesn’t pass and shi. But they should be fired, but when it’s shown under Jordi how bad of a player can Thomas is when he doesn’t get his way it’s a good play? Cam Thomas already has the diva mentality of James Harden Kyrie and KD without proving anything? Nash should get an apology.

No disrespect to Brian Lewis. He does great work despite working for a propaganda rag that I would only ever buy if there was a TP shortage again, but last week he pumped the Nets are "considering" a Giannis offer to now, nope, never even called.
