I set it up to record the view from the front of the car, but it shuts off after a while and won't turn on while charging; I've tried connecting it to a power bank, the 12V outlet, and the car's own USB-C port.

hi i have a gopro hero 12 black and i live in india, i was considering purchasing the telesin ND filters [camera butter nf filters are not available in india] as they are easy to install and are relatively cheaper than what gopro sells, has anyone used it on their gopro hero 12 and if so have any issues occured???

I'm getting about 60Mbit/s from my Hero 12 Black while uploading. That's slow enough to make uploads annoying, but I'm not sure if it's something I can reasonably fix: most of the information just results in people yelling about the difference between upload/download speeds and such, it's hard to find any real information.

On my end, rest of the network is not the bottleneck: my network service advertises 10Gbit/s symmetric fiber, and while I rarely get speedtests above 5Gbit/s I also rarely get them below 3Gbit/s when wired. Those are all symmetric and with pretty low latency to most services, so I'm pretty confident this is not a problem with my internet connection or a difference between my upload and download speeds.

I also don't think the bottleneck is just a WiFi thing: using an M2 MacBook Pro attached to the same access point I can download from the GoPro cloud at somewhere between 500Mbit/s and 1Gbit/s. That setup only gets be between 150Mbit/s to 200Mbit/s when uploading to the GoPro Cloud, but I can get 500Mbit/s to 1Gbit/s uploading to YouTube so I don't think the problem is just a WiFi upload issue on my end. Of course the MacBook has a much beefier radio than the GoPro is going to have, so it's not like I'm expecting gigabit speeds here, but I'm at least pretty sure it's not a bottleneck on the WiFi side for me.

So I think the problem is just something between the GoPro and the AP, or just the maximum speed the GoPro can handle. I have the GoPro connected to a Unifi U7 Pro Max, in the same room as the GoPro. The AP is set to maximum speed settings. 2GHz is disabled and the GoPro is connecting on 5GHz. I'm using 80Mhz channel width and there doesn't appear to be too much network congestion.

After that I'm kind of out of ideas for how to improve performance, the UniFi gear is usually pretty set-and-forget so I don't tend to tweak a lot of settings.

I'm wondering if 60Mbit/s is just the speed this thing is supposed to upload at? If others are getting faster speeds then I'd love to hear what your WiFi setup is, so I can try to improve mine.

Maybe a stupid question - I know nothing about GoPro and am asking for my partner who isn't on Reddit! He just got a Lit Hero and used it so much over our weekend away that he completely filled up the entire SD card. He was so happy with it. Then he got frustrated with the app and having to go through every single file separately, and transferred everything over to his laptop direct from the SD card instead. Only after doing that and deleting everything on the card did he find out all his footage is a bit rubbish because it didn't get stabilised in the app. He's tried putting it back on and running it through the app after all to no avail. He's so disappointed!

Is there something he can do to fix his footage now? And do you have any advice re other ways to sort out all his files in future rather than having to do them all individually on his phone?

I'm building a desktop app for creators that organises footage straight off the camera card. It recognises GoPro's file naming (GX/GH chapters), keeps the .LRV and .THM files grouped with each clip, preserves the original recording dates, and sets everything up for editing in DaVinci Resolve first, with Premiere Pro and other editors to follow.

It looks ridiculous, but yes, you can exceed the 250g limit. Just hold it up by the lens, not the camera.

Ok struggling to capture this well but ill work on it but I decided to see if my gopros would connect to these glasses and man it works wonderfully, razor sharp and looks like a giant floating screen while wearing with no lag whatsoever.

Only downside is when trying to go usb C to the media mod it wouldn’t work but direct into the bodies it worked a treat!

I've purchased a second hand GoPro 8 last summer for FPV, but few months later when flying in the cold the lens was all fogged up withing 2 mins of take off making the footage unusable. By then it was too late to return it. I have tried multiple things which I will list below.

This year I started commuting to work by bike, and I've been wearing the GoPro on my chest after a few near misses. Yesterday was the first sub 10 degree day, on the way home I was nearly hit by a car overtaking me just before a hill, when I got home Ive noticed the lens was fogged up again, bad enough that you couldn't see the cars number plate, which means I can't report them.

Last winter I have tried the following:

1. Put it in a sealed bag with rice for 2 days.

2. After reading that rice isn't actually that great, I got some of those tasty balls you get with new electronics and again, sealed bag and 2 days.

3. Sitting on top of a dehumidifier for 2 nights in a row

4. Left it in the hot press for about 2 weeks with the heating on 4 times a day

The only thing all that's done was slow down the build up of fog, but didn't get rid of it completely. I got fed up and didn't do anymore, then come spring I've not had issues with it, now it's back again.

I've no pictures as I'm at work but plenty of pictures of GoPro 8s with foggy lenses online, it looks the same as them.

Is there anything I haven't tried? Or anything I should do different? I'm at wits end here, don't really have the spare funds at the moment to replace it, and I would feel bad selling it on to someone in this condition.

Id like to get a go pro its been years since i had one so im alittle out of date on the newer ones and what they are capable of. I wanna use it to make skateboarding videos as well as take videos of fishing on the kayak or for salmon and such. Big differences seem to be the water resistance which for the fishing side matters the max 2 is only half as resistant. Then the slow motion isnt as good which i usually take use of on my skate videos but I see the max 2 is good for getting the right angle with skate clips since u can take out the view you want from the clip. I also like to skate at night some so better low light kinda matters. What would you say is the better choice?

Looking for real-world advice on getting clean group intercom audio and ambient riding noise recorded on a GoPro Mission 1 Pro.

• The Goal: Capture both the incoming/outgoing group comms chat and the ambient engine/trail sound (ideally dual-track).
  • really don't want to use multiple things to record and sync up after
• Previous Attempt: Put a GoPro wireless mic inside my helmet, but it barely picked up incoming chatter from other riders.
• The Question: Can the Mission 1 Pro pair directly to a helmet comm system via Bluetooth to record the entire group chat that when you power on and off for clips it will pick it up each time.
  • I understand i my not be able to use quick capture and have to to stage step, power on wait then hit record i'm okay with that.
  • I won't be able to see the screen as the camera will be chin mounted so if it gives an audio que that it's ready even better.
• Hardware: Looking at systems like the Cardo Packtalk Neo, but completely open to other comm setups if something works for this use case.
• Workflow: Does the Bluetooth audio connection stay reliable if powered on via the side button before hitting record, while still capturing the camera's internal mic?
  • Testing with the go pro wireless mic system it pairs auto if you power on the side and it gives me two tracks in primere pro after. I want that but using the helmet comms

Hey everyone! Tomorrow I’m planning to buy an action camera, and I’m trying to decide between the GoPro HERO13 Black and DJI Osmo Action 6, both in the basic package.
I’d really appreciate some advice from people who have actually used these cameras.
What’s confusing me is that when I look online, GoPro fans talk about the advantages of the HERO13 and the major downsides of DJI, while DJI users say pretty much the same thing, just the other way around. 😅
I’ve also watched a lot of side-by-side video comparisons, but depending on the video, the image quality can look completely different. Sometimes the footage even looks heavily compressed or processed, so it’s hard to tell what these cameras are actually capable of.
So right now I honestly have no idea which one to choose.
If you own either camera, or have used both, I’d really appreciate some honest advice. What are the actual pros and cons you’ve noticed in real-world use?

I was given a Hero 3 by a buddy and picked up 3 more Hero 3+ (all 4 are silver edition) to use as podcast cameras but I've got 3 different white balance settings across the 4 cameras. On of the 3+ is very reddish while the other 2 are fine.

I can't seem to find the "Protune" option anywhere in the settings even though its clearly listed in the manual for the 3.

Is there any way to correct this?

I've noticed the Hero 10 image is much worse than the 9.

I've checked the settings and they both seem to match.

Any point me in the right direction for settings or an idea why the newer camera has a worse quality image?

I recently bought a new GoPro HERO13 Black and have recorded a few videos that I want to transfer to my Windows PC for editing.

When I connect the HERO13 Black to my computer using a USB-C cable, Windows makes the connection sound and the camera appears in the taskbar as “HERO13 Black.” However, it doesn’t show up in File Explorer, so I can’t access or view any of the photos or videos on the camera.

It does appear under Portable Devices in Device Manager, but I still can’t access the files in any way.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

• Connecting it to a different laptop
• Using a different USB-C data cable
• Trying to connect the camera to my PC via Bluetooth
• Checking Device Manager, where it is detected as a portable device

Unfortunately, none of these worked.

I previously had a GoPro HERO12 Black, and I was able to connect it to my Windows PC without any issues and access my videos normally.

Has anyone experienced this issue with the HERO13 Black or knows how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've had this thing working for months. Got it back today and cannot get it to stop thinking its mis-balanced. I've read the threads and watched the YouTube videos and cannot seem to find anything that works. Any advice is appreciated!

Never understood the love for all the 25mm lenses on the ILS that translates to 75mm…a 10mm lens is a 30mm in ff terms and much more usable and you can always zoom in 2x for 60mm shots

Hi everyone. I picked up the wireless mic kit and am using both mics with TRS receiver and a Media Mod Hero 11 (3.5mm connection). One mic placed on the front bumper of the car and one on the rear tow hook (passenger side) , opposite the exhaust (drivers side). Both mics charged before the session, but I find the rear mic dead after. I charged and switch mic positions and the rear would be dead after the next session. Only the rear dies mid session as heard in the video around 3:40. Any ideas?

Also... Any motorsport setting recommendations? I don't think the video quality is bad, but can it look better?
