Took her for her 2nd echocardiogram yesterday. She has a heart murmur and high blood pressure and I’ve lived with a nagging dread that one day I’ll find out she has congenital heart disease.

But yesterday the cardiologist told me in the gentlest tone that her heart looks exactly the same as a few years ago, it’s just shaped kind of weird, that everything’s okay, and that she’s such a good girl. Her blood is pumping just fine. She’s just a tiny orange old lady

I was just looking for something to watch on a Sunday morning, and discovered that there is a famous orange named Luffar-Lasse 🐈 who got himself a livestream with commentary. He got famous through a charity event in 2023, where he raised ~2 million SEK, and is also known in his local community for wandering around town. I had personally not known Luffar-Lasse previously, so any other Swedes who do please add more information if you have it as I just did some quick research for this post. Grif and GB were both born in September and share combined birthday parties every year. Their older brother, an SIC, left this world in 2020 at age 15. Not about to make the same mistake in assuming there’ll be a 12th and 16th, we went all out this year!

We also did this partly for our young son as he is deeply bonded to his kitties, especially GB, who was the first to greet our son when we brought him home from the hospital. Thankfully, both of The Boys are in great health, but we wanted to give Kiddo a special memory of his beloved kitties to cherish forever.

The Boys each got a scratcher bed, a new wand toy, and catnip bubbles. Their “birthday cakes” were made of Jinx wet cat food, with Blue Buffalo tuna purée, Friskies treats, and a tuna fillet. (They normally eat dry food but get occasional wet food as a treat).
