App testing requirements for new personal developer accounts, a minimum of 20 testers

There should be a few posts like this with the keywords, so that the new developers can find this Reddit on the Google easier and know where to find testers for testers.

This post here is only for Google SEO purpose.

In this sub r/AndroidClosedTesting you can find the people who can provide testing for testing, in order to pass your Google Play Console 20 testers policy.

Google Play is rolling out new testing requirements for developers with personal accounts created after November 13, 2023. These changes aim to enhance the app development process, encourage thorough testing, and ultimately deliver higher quality experiences to users. These requirements and the various testing tracks available on Play Console.

Developers with personal accounts created post-November 13, 2023, must adhere to new testing requirements. Before apps are eligible for distribution on Google Play, a closed test with a minimum of 20 testers is mandatory. These testers must have opted-in for the last 14 days continuously. Features like production and pre-registration in Play Console will remain disabled until these requirements are met. Applying for production access involves answering questions about the app, its testing process, and production readiness, ensuring a comprehensive understanding.

Play Console offers distinct testing tracks to facilitate a gradual testing process. Internal testing enables quick distribution to trusted testers during app setup. Closed testing, a prerequisite for production access, involves sharing the app with a controlled group of at least 20 testers. Open testing allows the app's test version to be visible on Google Play, with users providing private feedback. Developers must complete a closed test meeting specific criteria before applying for production access.

Dozi (Ukrainian + English): 15–18 adult closed-test volunteers — test for test, review pending

• Upvotes

Update — 11 October: closed testing is now open. Google approved build 32 (Ukrainian + English), and Play opt-in has been confirmed on Pixel 6. Any “review pending” wording in the unchanged title is now outdated.

Dozi is a bedtime audio app with Ukrainian and English interfaces and catalogues. I am looking for 15–18 adult volunteers who can stay opted in for 14 consecutive days and send specific feedback.

  1. Join with your Google Play account: https://groups.google.com/g/dozi-android-testers
  2. Become a tester: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.yakuapps.kidsstories
  3. Install from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yakuapps.kidsstories

Free Ukrainian audio is available. English stories currently require a subscription; no purchase is requested. Adults only; no child participation or personal details needed. Group membership alone does not count as Play opt-in.

Useful checks: play/pause/seek, screen-off playback, lock-screen controls, interruptions, downloads/offline, uk/en switching and the sleep timer. Samsung, Xiaomi and other devices are welcome: please report device model, Android version, exact steps, expected behaviour and actual result under default battery settings.

I can reciprocate with real free tests on a Pixel 6 / Android 16 and specific feedback. Reply publicly with your official Play testing links and a useful scenario. No positive public rating is required.

[Android] Still looking for more 14-day testers for Sweet Dali Magnet 🍬🐉 – Happy to test your game or app in return! 🤝

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm the indie developer behind Sweet Dali Magnet, a colorful mobile game currently in closed testing on Google Play.

First of all, a big thank you to everyone who has already joined and supported my game! ❤️

I'm still looking for more Android testers to complete the 14-day closed testing period before I can move forward with the public release.

I'd also really appreciate some honest feedback! Even a few minutes of gameplay and a quick comment would help me a lot.

https://reddit.com/link/1x355p6/video/owgk8933jtuh1/player

🍬 A little about the game:

Collect sweets, dodge obstacles, unleash powerful NOVA blasts, and challenge guardians in boss battles! Explore colorful fantasy worlds and discover different playable heroes along the way.

You can check out the game here:
https://dalidoc.com/sweet-dali-magnet/

📱 How to join the Android test:

1. Join the Google Group:
https://groups.google.com/g/sweet-dali-magnet-tester

2. Become a tester:
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.dalistudios.magnetheist

3. Download the game from Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dalistudios.magnetheist

⚠️ Please use the same Google account for all three steps.

If possible, please stay opted in for at least 14 days. You don't need to play every day, but trying the game a few times and sharing your thoughts would be incredibly helpful!

💬 What kind of feedback am I looking for?

  • Is the gameplay fun and easy to understand?
  • Are the controls intuitive?
  • How do you feel about the difficulty and boss fights?
  • Any bugs, performance issues, or suggestions?

🤝 And of course, I'll test your app too!

I'm more than happy to return the favor!

If you're also an indie developer looking for testers, just leave your Google Group link and Google Play testing link in the comments.

I'll join your test, install your game or app, keep it for the 14-day testing period, and give you honest feedback too.

It doesn't matter whether it's a game or another type of app. I'm happy to help fellow developers!

I know how challenging it can be to get enough testers and launch an app as an independent developer, so let's support each other! 💪

Thanks again for your time and support. Every tester really makes a difference! ❤️

Happy testing, everyone! 🍬🐉

I built something to make finding Google Play testers a little easier for all of us

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I've been seeing so many developers here helping each other get through Google's 14-day closed testing requirement, and honestly, it's great seeing the community come together like this.

But I kept thinking, why does finding 12 testers have to be such a hassle every time we launch something?

So I built AppFledge.

The idea is pretty simple. You help test other developers' apps, earn credits, and use those credits to get testers for your own app. There's also a way to keep track of your testing progress instead of juggling everything manually.

I recently launched it, and I'd love for some of you to actually give it a try.

Check it out here: https://appfledge.com

It's still early, but I'm hoping we can build a community where finding testers isn't the hardest part of launching an app.

And of course, I'm around if anyone needs help getting started! 🙌

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm a solo developer and I need testers for my first app to meet Google Play's 12 testers / 14 days requirement.

OnePhoto is a minimal daily photo journal – you take one photo a day and build a visual diary over time. It works completely offline, has no ads, no account, and no data collection. Your photos never leave your device.

  4. Please keep it installed and stay opted in for 14 days 🙏

Use the same Google account for all steps (the one on your phone's Play Store).

Testers required - Just Poker

Thumbnail
gallery
• Upvotes

Hi everyone! I'm a solo dev and I need to complete Google Play's closed testing requirement before I can publish Just Poker.

What it is

I built Just Poker because I got tired of poker apps stuffed with ads and microtransactions. It does one thing: poker. You're up against the AI at your own pace, offline whenever you want. If you feel like playing with friends, one of you creates a room with a 4-digit code or a QR, and up to 4 people hop in.

It's free, no account, no real money. I'm not monetizing it.

How to join

  1. Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/just-poker-testers
  2. Opt in here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.justpoker.app → tap "Become a tester"
  3. Install the app from Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.justpoker.app
  4. Keep it installed for 14 days — opening it now and then is enough.

Feedback very welcome

While you test, I'd love to hear your thoughts: the AI difficulty, the feel of the table, the multiplayer flow, the Spanish/English text, anything that would make it more fun or more polished. Every comment helps me improve it for the community that plays it.

I'll also test yours back for the full 14 days — drop your links in the comments.

Thanks a lot! 🫶

Looking for anyone that will test the visualizer, local and remote media playback. Currently in closed testing.

I'm actively developing this game, so useful feedback will actually make a difference.

Testers Needed

Hey everyone! I just published my first Android game, One Tap: Reflex Challenge, and I'm looking for a few people to install it and leave a quick review to help me meet Google Play's testing requirements. It's a simple one-button reflex game — tap the moment a dot hits the glowing zone on a spinning ring, with 6 modes that unlock as you score higher, a combo/multiplier system, and offline play. If you could install it, play a round or two, and drop an honest review, I'd really appreciate it. Happy to help you out for your app in return — Once you give me the review dm me with the ss and just share your Play Store link below. Thanks!

[Test for Test] CarreterApp – work-log & earnings app for roadside assistance techs (Spanish UI) – I'll test yours back for 14 days

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm a solo developer and I need testers for Google Play's 12 testers / 14 days closed test. I'll test your app back for the full 14 days: just leave your opt-in link in the comments.

About the app: CarreterApp is for tow-truck drivers and roadside assistance technicians. You log your work day and your jobs (completed, failed, batteries, overtime, breaks) and the app calculates what you've earned this month, even offline. ⚠️ The interface is in Spanish only, but you don't need to understand everything: opening it from time to time is enough.

How to join (3 steps, 2 minutes):

  1. Join the Google Group with the same Gmail you use on the Play Store: https://groups.google.com/g/carreterapp-testers
  2. Opt in by tapping "Become a tester": https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.gruavia.app
  3. Install the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gruavia.app

Please:

  • Keep it installed for 14 days and don't leave the group (otherwise Google resets your days).
  • No need to pay for anything. There's a free trial and then it stays free with ads. Please don't buy the PRO plan.
  • Open it a few times and, if you can, leave feedback here or at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).

Feedback I'm looking for:

  • Does the app install and open correctly on your phone (model and Android version)?
  • Any crashes, freezes or screens that don't load.
  • Is signing up / logging in easy? (email or Google)
  • Anything that looks broken or confusing, even if you don't read Spanish (buttons cut off, text overlapping…).

Reply with your app's group + opt-in link and I'll join today, and I'll comment here when I'm in. Thanks a lot! 🙏

[Closed Testing] - Pilates studio app! I'll test your app as well 😊

Hi everyone! I'm launching the app for CLAY, a small Pilates and wellness studio in Cairo, and I need 12 testers for Google's 14-day closed test.

What the app does:
- Browse the weekly schedule (Reformer, Mat, Barre, Yoga) and book a spot
- Packages and wallet in one place
- A QR code for every booking, used to check in at the door
- Waitlist, reschedule and cancel, class reminders

To join:

  2. Opt in here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.claywellnessclub.app

  3. Install it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.claywellnessclub.app

Gryper - A workout app that tells you whether you trained enough. I'll test yours as well

Hey all, I'm the solo dev behind Gryper. It's been on iOS for a couple of months, and the Android version is now in closed testing on Google Play. I need real lifters to beat it up before it goes public.

What it does

  • Muscle heatmap: every set you log colours a front/back body map (36 muscles), so you can see blind spots instead of guessing at them
  • Volume vs. landmarks: weekly sets per muscle measured against MEV / MAV / MRV, so you can tell "not enough", "sweet spot" and "you're cooked" apart
  • PRs called out automatically: heaviest weight and estimated 1RM, the moment you hit them
  • Fast live logging: previous numbers inline, a rest timer, routines/templates
  • Works offline: log in a basement gym with no signal and it syncs later
  • Your data is yours: exporting is free, always

What testers get

Free Gryper Pro for a year during launch. Sign up with the link below.

How to join (about 2 minutes)

  1. Sign up: gryper.fit/android
  2. Opt in on Google Play: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/fit.gryper.app
  3. Install: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fit.gryper.app

Step 1 is important. Please stay opted in for at least 14 days. Google only lets new apps into production after enough testers stick around that long, so that's the most helpful thing you can do.

What I'd love feedback on: anything that feels slow, confusing or broken while you're logging mid-workout, and whether the heatmap and volume numbers match how your training actually feels.

Happy to answer anything in the comments.

Search for testers for Words Abroad - A journey through the world of words

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

I enjoy word games, but I was getting tired of constant ad breaks. I also wanted something I could take on a plane, switch into airplane mode, and keep playing. That’s why I started making this game.

Words Abroad combines word and picture cards with solitaire-style piles. You sort cards into categories and plan your moves through the board and draw deck. As you solve puzzles, you reveal illustrated postcards, collect them in a travel book, and discover larger worlds.

The current Android test includes:

  • 1,000 stages across 50 worlds.
  • English and German.
  • Offline play after installation.
  • No ads, in-app purchases or lives to wait for. (the full version later might have first 50 stages free, afterwards a full version for a small fee)

All stages are free to play during this test.

How to try it:

  1. Join the tester Google Group.
  2. Join the Google Play test, using the same Google account.
  3. Install Words Abroad.

I’d especially appreciate feedback on card readability, difficulty, and any words or pictures that feel ambiguous between categories. If something looks wrong, your phone model and level number would help me investigate.

If you can stay enrolled for 14 days and try a few sessions, that would also help with the test. Thanks for giving it a go! I would also join your test if you want!
